Everything Park Reservations - Please Read Post 1

Before calling I would recommend cancelling one of your Docot days (if you have one booked) to free up a reservation then you will be able to move all the others around and then at the end rebook Epcot.

Sometimes MDE glitches when you already have every day of your ticket booked.
Usually cancelling an Epcot day is the best bet, but it depends on when he is going and if he has an AP. Epcot is actually not available for 2 days for APs in the next week. I would pick a different park to cancel and shuffle if that's so.

Anyone know if you go to MK on Dec. 30th early in the day, with reservations of course,
can you leave to go outside of the park for dinner and then return after dinner or could you be told you can not return because it is filled to capacity? I know it should be open until 1:00am that day and I know it will be very crowded, but just wondering if it could be so crowded that they would not let you return later in the evening. Thanks so much!!

Please read post 1 of this thread. A park reservation guarantees entrance to that park from open to close.

Looks like today and tomorrow have no availability at the Magic Kingdom for regular single day tickets. Been awhile since that has happened!

I was waiting until this weekend to book Dec. 31st reservations for Epcot. I made a mistake. Today it showed that it was SOLD OUT. Has anyone had any experience with a park being sold out and then reservations opening? Beating myself for doing this.

Keep stalking it. Availability changes frequently.

Try to actually book it. Last year it had a glitch where it would show sold out on the availability calendar but it wasn’t quite sold out.

Other than that book another park and just keep stalking and hope they allow park hoping.

It can happen but there is no guarantee especially as the date you’re looking for is NYE.

You will read in this thread that it can happen. My recommendation is to keep trying often. Also, don’t go by the availability calendar as it is not updated real-time. Keep trying to actually book an Epcot reservation.

To date park hopping has never been stopped to Epcot but again, there is no guarantee.

Hi all.

Question about park reservation on capacity days. Iv now seen conflicting information from Ask Disney. Just to add to the confusion.

If you have a park reservation for a day when the park hits capacity. If you leave the park and want to come back in can you ?

As you have a reservation for that park for the day ?

Or would you have to leave and come back before park hopping is allowed ?

Please see post 1.

A park reservation guarantees you entry (and re-entry) from park open to park close.

this is what plan disney said yesterday..

Most of the days during your stay you will not worry about the capacity of the park becoming an issue. Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve historically have reached capacity and if this is the case you should consider staying at Magic Kingdom Park. If you decide to leave you will not be allowed back in after the park has reached capacity even with a park reservation.

I would be surprised if this happens as it has never, ever happened since park reservations started. The last 3 Christmases were all at capacity for park reservations and guests were always allowed to re-enter. Your choice to do what you choose but to date a guest with a reservation has never been denied entrance.

Even park hopping has been allowed all Christmas and all NYE days since park reservations were introduced.

I would also be surprised. That is the point of the reservation. This conversation is a Seinfeld callback. :D

As an AP, I assumed I could have a MK reservation for 12/30, go to any park after 2pm and go to MK whenever I felt like it. I planned on doing the same for EPCOT on 12/31. If that is not the case, my plans are quite foiled.

This will be our first time being at WDW for NYE. Right now we have reservations scheduled for Magic Kingdom that day. The WDW website shows that MK is open until 12am that night. Epcot is open until 1am. I am assuming that both parks will have some type of fireworks at midnight.

If we go to MK at park opening, and then decide to go back to the room during the day to rest, and then come back in the evening, will we still be able to get back in even if crowds are heavy? Just want to make sure that if there is a chance we can't get back in that we kind of change our plans at maybe sleep in and get there in the afternoon and stay until close.

Also, which park usually has the bigger celebration, MK or Epcot? Any other tips or tricks for doing NYE at the parks?
