We love Aulani, but have never noticed time of year when it doesn’t seem overrun with kids.

We actually just got back. We went in Jan to avoid American Idol this year. The weather was amazing. We're going back in June, but of course we expect a full house!

The kids don't really bother us because we never sit by the pool anyway.

We are trying a 2Bd IGV this August because we are saving some points for a GV in 2025…

I wish the 1BDs had a full bathroom and a powder room like VGC and VDH.

The 2Bd’s having 3 bathrooms is wonderful for a family of 4.

We just got back, lots of kids including our own but it never felt over run. All this complaining about the adults only pool….no one uses that pool ! (at least when we were there) a few days it was just us and our well behaved kids who were the only ones in it at times. That pool was noticeably colder than the other pools though. Last year same time it was quite a bit warmer. All the other pools were just fine.

I look forward to your June report. Next year we’re going first two weeks of June. We’ve always gone late Jan/Feb but it’s getting harder to take the kids out of school for a week+.

In my mind (before visiting), I was imaging a nice view of the ocean and swim up bar. If I had to choose between adult only pool and swim up bar with a sunset view, I would pick the latter.

The adult only hot tub area is actually beautiful with a very nice view… I would be very satisfied if they turned it into one hot tub and one plunge pool… though one evening we were in there and actually left because a couple turned it into an “adult film” hot tub.

The gentleman was extremely drunk and producing airplane sized hard liquor bottles from his pocket and then chucking the debris into the bushes. I can only surmise from the experience that there are not closely monitored cameras on the adult hot tub (This is not legal advice, ymmv!).

When we first got married, a couple thought they'd give that a shot in the hot tub at our apartment complex. That didn't end well for them.

I would have expected Disney to have someone come by with a flashlight by the 5-10m mark TBH.

Two months later, I’m honestly more offended by the crass littering than the PDA (assuming that my worst case scenario fear did not actually come to fruition).

Rented one of these chairs this weekend, and thought I would share a pic so everyone had a better idea of what they are. They are the same units available on the beach... just up on the deck. There are 6 available, and fairly close to each other. Chairs # 1 and #6 are closest to walkways. I requested one of those, so as to minimize the time traipsing in front of other folks. They were all booked the 3 days that I checked. It was a quiet place, without kids around, as they only accommodate 2 people. I had chair #1, and liked it for a busy Saturday. I don't think I'd grab it for more than 1 day though.

Ugh what a bummer! As expected, this is the exact area where they turned into rentals This is our favorite area and back in December we sat in the chairs next to that tree, it was so lovely! Hopefully they will keep that upper row free...I'm not paying for chairs...

I’m going to be part of the problem here, because I will pay for chairs to have a reserved place to sit so that I can sleep in.

Nah, not really a problem, I don't see it that way at least. Like many things, as long as there's a price for convenience, someone will pay and that's just inevitable. Genie+ is a good example, many people refuse to pay but we will pay it every time.
