A day of sight seeing in southern CA

We will be staying at Disneyland but would like to take a full day to do a little sight seeing in southern CA.... What different places must we go to??? We were thinking of going to see the Hollywood sign,rodeo drive,the chinese theatre... things like that... any advice??? Is it doable in one day to visit all of these places for an hour or two??? What else is local that we really should see??? Thanks!

The Hollywood sign isn't much to see. Mann theatre (chinese theatre), rodeo drive and the sign are all within 15 mins of each other by car. You can also go to Melrose for shopping or city walk at Universal for some fun (all within the vicinity).
