Not sure this is the correct place to ask this question but here goes.

I have seen posts from DVC Members who have booked their DCL cruise through Member Services but paid cash instead of using their points. Is there any benefit to doing this (discount, stateroom credit, etc.) rather than booking directly through Disney or with a travel agent?? Just curious why some do it this way.

You can't book through MS unless you pay for at least one person (per cabin) with points. (There may have been an exception to that rule for the Members' cruise, only).
