I switched from LAX to Long beach, how far is that from DL? TIA :sunny:

Its about 15 miles. We found it easiest to take surface streets rather then the freeway. When you come out of the airport you will be on Wardlow. A mile or so down the road it becomes Ball road. Ball runs along the back side of the park. Its an easy drive/ straight shot. You can shave a few minutes off by taking the freeway. We didnt like taking the freeway. The traffic was heavy and the construction made it diffcult to find our way. But, that was in March, so maybe the construction isnt an issue now.

We flew into Long Beach instead of LAX for the first time earlier this month. It is SO much easier and quicker than using LAX. It takes maybe half the time to get to DL. Also, Long Beach is a much smaller airport, so it is a lot quicker to check in, go through security, gather your bags, etc. DH flew home from Long Beach the day after all of the new security regulations. LAX was taking at least 3 hours to get to the gate, he took maybe 10 minutes at Long Beach.

The only downside to going through Long Beach is the transportation. There is no Disneyland Express Bus and the rental cars are generally more expensive than at LAX, but it isn't too bad. Have a great trip!

Alamo hot deals typically have cars for very cheap. In March we had one from Thur- Monday for $35 (total). That would have gotten one of us a round trip on the bus or super shuttle! And, we only spent $7 in gas, so even with that it was still a super great price!

We used LAX on the Saturday after the security change. We were dropped off at 3:00 pm near the southwest ticket counter. There were 7 of us which included 3 children. We checked in and got our tickets, dropped off the bags for security, went through 1 screening checking our tickets and ID, then went through the traditional metal detector screening search. We were at our gate at 3:25 pm. :cool1:

It was the fastest we've ever made it to a gate at a major airport. Then we had to wait over 2.5 hours in the terminal. :confused3 It did beat missing the flight.
