For those who have made AKV reservations, were you also warned about possible construction noise during your visit?

yes, I was told that during the day there would be construction. I told him I will be in the parks anyway so no worries.
Well my disclaimer was that they would be working on the new building which would create noise, but I am in the old building. I think I will not worry about this.
Maybe they will issue you a souvenir hard hat with a DVC logo on it as compensation. I'll bet they would go for big bucks on ebay!I don't mind some noise but when they told me that construction workers would still be building my room during the day I had to draw the line.
She made a BIG point about the construction noise and only being during the daytime. It's not going to be an issue for me. I'm an early riser, and I'll be out before they start!
Most travel agents will tell clients about any construction and recomend avoiding the hotels. I'd be p......off if I showed up to unexpected construction after shelling out thousands for a vacation. In this case all DVC'rs know about it and should expect some noise, if it's anything like SSR construction, it should not be to bad..Of course some folks have lower noise tolerance levels than others so if anyone thinks it will bother them they should hold off on AKL for another year. Leaves more rooms for me to pick from. Also was mentioned that some UK travel agents are telling people to avoid both AKL and Contem. due to construction.
