Breakfast at the Royal Court looked fabulous. Where was everyone? At the buffets, or getting ready to go ashore?
We were there fairly early so I guess others were sleeping in or getting ready to go ashore. It didn't bother us though. I kind of liked it!
Sounds like you weren't all that impressed with downtown Nassau. We have had a couple of 5 day vacations with a stay at Atlantis, which is incredible. We have gone into town a few times (visiting the Pirates Museum, bus tour of the city), but you are right, there's not a lot there. We are not shoppers and have absolutely no interest in the Straw Market. The culinary tour Mary Ellen took sounds interesting though.
We weren't very interested in exploring Nassau anyway. We wanted to get back on the Dream and look around while everyone else was ashore since it was our first time on board. All we really wanted to do was get a souvenir and get our passports stamped. I guess one out of two isn't bad, huh?
I am blown away by your outstanding meal at Remy's. When do you choose your order? When you first arrive?
Remy's was fantastic! We went over all the options when we first arrived and then just sat back and enjoyed the view while everything was prepared. It was magnifique! Did you get that little Frenchy reference there? Remy...French
Maybe Max was right and I should tryout for the boat Captain job on the Jungle Cruise!
You are quite the swashbuckling couple! Whenever I see pictures of your wife, she reminds me with Julianna Margulies from The Good Wife. Similar appearances and they both seem to carry themselves with a lot of poise
Why thank you ma'am. I'm really surprised we both decided to dress up for Pirate's night. DW will be pleased with the compliment. She was trained in classical ballet and her dance instructor that trained two Miss America winners talked to her about attending Juilliard but it was too far from home for this little ole Southern belle.
My husband really wants to try a
Disney cruise, and the fireworks from the ship are one of the reasons. I'm glad you were able to watch some from your balcony.
We were on the starboard side of the ship but I don't know if the fireworks are always on that side. I was really hesitant to try the cruise but now I enjoy it just as much as visiting WDW!
Now I am finished with
Castaway Cay- Shouldn't it be Castawee Key?
I mean really, right?!
Gorgeous pictures, both from the ship and on the island.
Thanks but it's real easy to take decent pics when the subject is so beautiful.
What is the tall not-palm tree?
It was a cell tower!
Serenity Bay looks really wonderful. So clear and calm. I don't know if you had a chance to discuss the cruise when you met Teena but that is her happy place.
The whole island is just perfect but what else would you expect from Disney? We spoke with Teena for quite a while and she told us of her many cruise adventures. She's a wealth of information and gave us plenty of tips and advice.
That is too bad about the cancelled Jet Ski tour. Disney's island is probably one of the few places I would consider that activity. You hear a lot about safety issues and scams where you get blamed for damage to the jet skis, but I would be comfortable doing this if Disney was involved.
We've been on a jet ski many times years ago when we lived in Natchez, MS and had a blast. We were really looking forward to it. Maybe next time.
I have heard so many great things about Alaskan cruises, and the excursions you are considering all sound thrilling.
I've yet to hear or read about anyone not having a good time on an Alaska cruise. We are really looking forward to it!
Once again, I am not disappointed by the food porn. Great selections and great pictures at Animators Palate. And memorable dinner conversation...
That was our biggest surprise about the cruise...the quality of the food on board. As for the table mates, all I can say is what DW said, "Holy crap on a cracker!"
What more could you want. Oh, craving some crème brulee? Here you go!
That is amazing, thoughtful service.
I know
DCL is more expensive than many of the other cruise lines but as in anything, you get what you pay for. The great food and the fantastic service on DCL are just two of the reasons they keep winning awards for best cruise ships on the high seas!
