Hi Y'all!
I hope you've got your lap bar pulled down tight, this country girl has you all set for a wild ride! Let's start with the basics.

My name is Jillian.
I'm 20 as of September 9th 2014.
I'm an admitted Disney Addict (duh.)
I'm a southern belle born and raised in the swamps of Louisiana. (I live about 10 minutes from RJ and Jay Paul is you've ever seen that stupid show Swamp People) I promise that's all TV, we really don't live like that :scared:
And before August of this year, I never ran a day in my life! (Not completely true, obviously, I played sports and all. Just never ran "competitively"
I'm in college, just haven't figured out for what yet :upsidedow
I'm very close to my parents and my boyfriend, you'll see them!
I like to talk! So get ready for some long winded post!
That's about it, me in a nutshell.

I'll just upload a photo montage, and we'll talk after.

Alrighty then, hope you enjoyed the show. So first off, that's me in the first picture, HII, nice to meet you!
Next up is my Mom and I! We are dressed as Dee and Dum!
Next up is myself, again.
Then we have my boyfriend and I!
Naveen from down in New Orleans with me!
Next up is my Dad,Mom, myself, and my boyfriend. And yes, that is us in out skiing clothes in front of my second house :lmao: It was THAT COLD! 27 degrees in fact!
Then we have us again with my baby DUFFY<3 I love him so much!! You're wondering why I don't have a picture with the big cheese himself right? That's because I NEVER TAKE A GOOD PICTURE WITH MICKEY! It's a goal every time we go that I take a good picture with him, and so far I've had some bad luck!
I promise the next post will actually pertain to running, I figured I would start us out with some introductions! If you plan on taking this journey with me, I would love to hear from you, and get to know you! Make a little post about yourself, and since this is the WISH board, your health goals!!You'll be hearing from me again later today!
See ya real soon!:thumbsup2

Welcome to the Journal section of the board. As many others, I've found that posting both my own journey as well as reading others is a great form of accountability and encouragement. Looking forward to seeing your progress! Feel free to check out my journal as well.

WOW! First day and I am already behind on my post :rotfl2:

I promise I will be better! I have been so busy, between work and my Etsy shop, AANNDD I finally signed up for Origami Owl, so I am really excited to start hosting parties!

I decided to dedicate a post to why I run. I started running in August, so I haven't had a very long running career. When I was younger, let's say I was the one that suddenly had a "sprained ankle" on running days. I played sports, but I never enjoyed running. Last summer I decided to try to pick up running for weight loss.

I live in Louisiana.
I was running at noon.
I was so DUMB!

It was so hot, I hated every minute of it! I ran way more than I should have just starting out. So I had shin splints galore. So let's just say I gave it up very fast!

In August, I discovered rundisney. Disney my favorite thing ever, and running, one my least favorite things ever combined. But then I saw so many people, people just like me with a passion for Disney, with their medals and crossing that finish line. That's when I decided I was going to run.

So the next day, I got up at 6, laced up a pair of sneakers, grabbed a bottle of water, and I ran in my driveway.
That's right, I ran in my driveway. I didn't feel safe going run at a park and we don't have any tracks around me. So my driveway was going to have to work! I started out with a 1/2 a mile. I ran it in 8 minutes. So I figured, great in a month or two I'll be running a mile in that time!
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Boy, was I native!
I had no idea about anything running! I quickly learned that I needed to do some research, and lower my expectations! I stopped at my library and picked up every one of their running books. I read so much information online!

I finally felt excited about running! It interested me, and honestly. I started feeling great after a run. I was happy, I felt accomplished. I wanted more.
I decided I needed running shoes. A visit to my local running store, which I never knew existed before.
I left with a pair of Brooks Ghost 6, which I'M IN LOVE WITH!!

After buying my shoes, I improved so much! I felt better running, I wasn't nearly as sore. And I get excited every time I lace up!

If I could give anyone thinking about starting to run any advice, it would be to take $100 and go buy yourself a nice pair of shoes. It's worth it.

So here I am today, I just ran my first 5K in 28 minutes. I am working toward a 10K and from there a half marathon. I don't always feel like getting up, and I get sore sometimes, or discouraged.
But I don't let it get to me, I just do it without thinking. I just start to run. And it feels amazing.

So I didn't post my update for Monday.

I'll just combine them here!

Monday's run went pretty well. I got up for 5:30 and got out the door for 6,whoops :lmao:

I ran 2.50 miles in 29 minutes. A little slower than my normal time, but it was a good run all the same.

Today's run was intervals. One minute fast, one minute walking. I ran in the evening, it was a nice change of pace since I always run in the morning. It was a bit of a dreary run, since it rained all day today. But still good. I ran 2.70 in 37:24. Not too bad for walking, I could have walked faster, but I had a long day at work :rotfl2:

I don't mind taking it slow sometimes to just enjoy the run and being outdoors. So I'm happy with today all the same!

Friday I have a 2.5 mile run again. I am hoping it goes well! I don't have work Friday,so not sure if I will do my run in the early morning or late morning. I guess we'll see if I can sleep in! This new time change has me all over the place!!

Hope everyone is having a great week!

Hello all!

I do have an excuse for not posting very much lately.

I injured myself. The worst setback for a runner!
I actually fell down my stairs, I am okay. It could have been worse. But I decided to take it easy this week and not run just to not push it!

But I will resume training Sunday and I am excited!!
So I decided to do a "real life" update about my Dad's birthday weekend!

My parents headed up to Biloxi the day before us for a concert. Then my boyfriend, Jay and I headed up to meet them the next day.
This was our first out of state trip together so we were very excited!

The trip started off with lunch!
Where would our road trip choice be??

Burger King of course!
I chose a "healthy" option of a chicken wrap

Jay got a burger, but he ate it so fast I couldn't get a picture!

The trip was pretty uneventful until.....

dun dun dun the dreaded traffic.
We were stopped for about 30 minutes in bumper to bumper.
It ended up being an accident. Hopefully everyone involved was okay!
As soon as we got past the accident, the traffic cleared and we were on our way again!

Until we realized we were about to go over an 80 mile bridge and we were almost out of gas!!
Better pull over to get some! The choices were slim, so let's just say we had to stop in a not so great section of town.

We pulled over here

Uh huh.

Thankfully we were on our way soon enough!

Before I knew it we were almost in Mississippi and I had to get a sign picture!

It didn't come out quite as planned..

But no matter! Soon enough were pulled into Biloxi and found Mom and Dad's hotel with ease.
They were staying at the Beau Rivage!

They had a great view from their room!

We had dinner reservation so we freshened up and got changed for dinner

Here I am in my "fancy dinner outfit"

Since it was Dad's birthday, and he loved sushi, we chose to eat here

The guy in my picture doesn't look to pleased to me eating at Jia..
But Mom and Dad were pretty excited about it!

Then it was Jay and I's turn..

We were seated rather quickly, but it took quite a long time to start the dining experience, due to the restaurant trying to fill our Hibachi table.
So I took pictures of the restaurant to pass the time.

We were started off with soup. I can't remember all the options, but I think there were four to chose from.
I chose the Egg Drop

It was decent, not amazing, but decent.

Next up the Hibachi Chef came and started our meal, he was so sweet and funny!
He started off with cooking the rice, and he made a rice birthday cake for my Dad!
It was very cute and such a nice touch!

I don't eat rice, so I asked if I could have noodles with my meal. Thankfully they were sweet enough to accommodate me!

Next up was the ever popular onion volcano

After the volcano, he made a "onion train"
I had never seen this done, and it was very cute!

Here is my complete meal

Overall I liked my meal, it was so much food though!

Here is Jay's " there's no wifi in here and I can't get my football scores face"

After everyone had eaten, we brought out a birthday cake for Dad.
I had a small piece, it actually wasn't that great of a cake. So it was easy to have a small piece.
After dinner, Jay and Dad wanted to try their luck in the casino. So Mom and I headed to the gift shops for a bit of shopping.

And we found this

A wall of ornament merpeople.

I'll just leave those too speak for themselves.
After shopping we decided to take a walk outside by the poolside.
Being November, it was actually quite chilly so close to the water.

Being that we were all still too full from our supper. We decided against a late night snack and headed for a little fun in the game room.

We won a few tickets, enough to get us each a few candies and I got a keychain, that I don't have a picture of

After this we decided it was getting pretty late and we had a 2 1/2 hour drive ahead of us.
So Mom and Dad walked us to the parking garage for our goodbyes.
The ride home was uneventful and we made good time.
We had a great visit with Mom and Dad for his special birthday weekend!
They are actually off again this weekend celebrating Mom's birthday on a camping trip! So I am here house sitting!

I do hope to continue with these quick real life updates, and hopefully running updates as well!!

Until next time everyone!
