Black Friday 2006 Buddies Needed for the Best Bargins Yet!!HOME FROM THE TRENCHES!

TENIA66 said:
best of luck buddies, check back in tomorrow and let me know how you did with your bargins!!! Thanks for making this thread one of the most viewed threads ever!!!

PS Check www.walmart.com and www.toysrus.com for some unadvertised in store doorbusters!!!
I cant get the TRU deals to open right. Anyone know what they are?

Just wanted to check boards one last time before I head to bed so I can get up early and head to the sales.. I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and hoping everyone gets what they are wanting..

I just think there is more geared for the high end electronics - the game Scene it "unadvertised" special at TRU - $29.99, um.. I thought it was $25!!

nope, not biting, the prices will come down the week of Christmas!

ok....dh and I did a 'drive by' of our local stores. We had wanted to go to best buy for the $249 laptop.... nope.
as of 10:30 pm
we saw......
walmart- 2 people in line
gamestop-about 15
circuit city-about 20
best buy- about 70
target -no one yet
toys r us- 8 cars in the parking lot...no one actually in line yet.

and its about 36 degrees and raining....I can just imagine if it was nicer out.
No way am I going to even try to go out tomorrow. Oh well, if I don't have it they don't need it.

well we're back. we ended up ordering our items from Circuit City online and did in-store pick-up.

It was pretty nice! Walked right in and went to Customer Service where there was no line. It did take about 15 mins to get the items (I actually had to go into the store and pick two of them up) but it sure beat standing out in the cold and then waiting in that LONG line that was there!

Went and got the stuff we wanted at Kohls and Office Max. OM was actually out of the item DH wanted, but the salesperson gave him the next best item for the sale price! :woohoo: He ended up getting the better item for $100 less than it was supposed to be.

I am thinking of going back to Kohls and getting more blankets and pillows the kids are already fighting over them

I hope everyone else got what they wanted.

i'm back for now also, i got everything i wanted which really was only a few things like the camera and dvd from target. that was crazy

We got on Circuit City and Best Buy last night to get our electronics. No way was I fighting that mob! I got a tv/dvd for DD 15 for just over $100 and MP3s for 3 of us for under $100. I also got a new PS2 for DS - his quit working.

DS 19 found a saphire and diamond necklace for his girlfriend, 50% off. DD 15 got gifts for 3 of her friends and a new set of headphones. My mom collects cute boxes, and I got one that is normally $20 for $5! We got free snowglobes at Penneys. We found a bunch of new videos and a game I've been wanting.

So I'm through for the day. I still have some gifts on my list and a pick up to do at Best Buy, but that can wait til tomorrow.

i think were back off again to go to walmart

Walmart scares me on Black Friday. I heard on the radio that a woman here hurt her hand and it was bleeding pretty bad. Those people can be vicious. They did have some good deals today though.

well...I just got back. We ran to target to get Ipods(with the $25 gift card), a few DVD's, but they were out of all the nintendo DS games that came with a gift card.
then we went over to Best Buy. They had tons of things left. Dvds, cds, I got the $15 memory card. But no computers or laptops. oh, but they had tons of Playstation 3's - I don't want one of those, go figure.

Target was pretty calm but crowded(only tagged along mom and sister)

Nabbed a few dvd's I've been looking for(all 4 HP movies!, the Notebook,Batman Begins and Rent)

But the Big Lots line only had 2 people

Just got back from my crazy morning of shopping! So, we get to Best Buy at 5 a.m (supposedly 5 a.m. doors open) and there already is a a line around the store and through the parking lot! There was also a camera crew there interviewing the first ones in line (they had a portable heater!) We get on the line, make a few BF friends, and learn that doors wont open until 7 AM!! So, we go into the mall next to the best buy and nothing is open except the food places! I have to say, we met some of the nicest people. A mother-son team, two women, and two guys and we had our own little BF group! Now people were being let in 60 people at a time at 6:30. Then at 7, it was a mad rush in and a complete crazy house inside! We all wished each other the best of luck getting our item and ran in together! It was great! I got some DVDs, a CD, and the $20 canon photo printer. We drop off our stuff at the car then go into JCpenney and got our Mickey snowglobes!! We then went to Old Navy and they had little peel and win games and i won free giftags which will come in handy! I get a few things and then go to the Ebar at Nordstrom's to get a smoothie and relax. and it was only 8am! We then browsed in American Eagle and got more snowglobes at Penney's!! We headed out and it was crazy in the parking lot!! We leave and go over to 5 below to get fun, cheap gifts. and a few things for ourselves! We went to eat and then to hallmark to pick up some gift wrap. I had a great time at my first early morning BF and can't wait for next year! Gotta go wrap my gifts now! Hope you all got what you wanted! :wave2:

I am soooooooo excited over a hidden bargain that we got today at Circuit City!!!!! :woohoo:

Oh my gosh, did I have a great BF! The best deal of the day was our last stop at Circuit City (after already having been there at 5:00am to buy a camera for DD). DH and I had been hemming and hawing about getting a plasma TV. After researching the ones that would be on sale for BF (taking into account the quality of the TV), we had decided that IF we were going to get one, we'd get the 50" Panasonic plasma at Circuit City for $1999.99.
We still weren't sure, so we decided to go to Circuit City and check them all out in person. The cheapest we had seen this TV go for was $2499.00, so we thought the $1999 price was a good deal! :happytv:

There was also an unadvertised 50" Samsung for $1799. We had our Nov. '06 Consumer Reports magazine with us which said the Samsung was also one of the top pics for our price range, so we were going to get that one instead. Well, someone had just bought the last one, but the salesman said we could buy the Panasonic 50" plasma for $1399 after a $200 mail-in rebate AND that price included a wall mount and free installation! He said someone screwed up the prices on the computer system and that someone was going to lose his/her job over this pricing error. So, we bought the Panasonic 50" which is what we had originally wanted, but saved $700 over the BF price AND got the wall mount and free installation!

If you are in the market for a plasma TV, you won't find a 50" at this price with this quality anywhere! The sale on the TV is for today and tomorrow, so you can still get this price!!! Here's the link to the TV showing the $1999 sale price.

http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Pana...46860/catOid/-12869/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do

This is the breakdown on the receipt:

50" Panasonic Plasma TV $1199.99
Wall mounting kit: + $99.99
Installation: + $299.99
Total: + !599.97
Less -(200)
Net price before tax = $1399.97

Remember, you can get if for $1399 with install & wall mount! If you inquire on the price of the TV w/out the wall mount and w/out installation, the price will be $1999.99. Go figure! :rolleyes2

Other electronic things I also bought earlier in the day:
$99 Kodak 5 megapixel camera w/printer dock (Circuit City) - $99.99 after rebate
Two $89 portable DVD players (9" screens) at Target - $89.99

We got everything we wanted!!

The camera bundle, microwave, my boyfriend's mystery gift to me... high ticket from what he's hinting lol, The Gig cards (4), the stick vaccums and a bunch of movies from Walmart

The power battery backups, the surge protectors, the 2 Gig Memory USB stick and more from Staples

Movies and Games from Kmart

A new 5 gallon aquarium from Petco

But get this! The Walmart we went to (by my mother) was pure CHAOS!! But when we got home we went to see if they had any more DVDs. They still had LAPTOPS! They still had everything! It was completely insane. And they were still honoring early bird prices. So yeah, we are just staying home next year! :rotfl:

$99 Kodak 5 megapixel camera w/printer dock (Circuit City) - $99.99 after rebate
Two $89 portable DVD players (9" screens) at Target - $89.99
Wow! Congrats :)

Started Thursday at Kmart sent my DH he picked up a couple of Elmo TMX's for me. Then Thursday night I wet saw a large animated Winnie the Pooh and tigger i6 foot nflatable reg $79.99 but it had a piece of paper saying $19.99 on it. Of course it was on the top shelf I asked a worker to get it down and he did then I asked him to verify the price he said yep it's $19.99 went to the front to pay and it was $79.99 but since the guy that verified the price was the manager they called him up and gave it to me for that price.

Then pretty much took all my add's for DVD's to Walmart and had them price match it and the drum set TRU had for $49.99 the one at Wally World was a nicer set $99.99 and they still priced matched it. I was so happy!!!

I stayed out of the meylay until later in the day but needed to brave the stores for more Xmas lights.

I hit Shopko and there were tons of bargains left, I wonder how many of the others stores are like that?

Anyway as I was browsing the PS2 games for my DS I noticed a Nintendo Wii on the shelf and sure enough they had 1 for sale. I went ahead and bought it as there are 0 of them around here. I have to decide now whether to give it to him or not :confused3

Same here. I just went to Bath and Body works to load up on Wallflowers. They had plenty left, but the line was about 30 minutes long to check out. Got the eau de toilette for free, but the antibacterial collection was only 3 for $10, not 5 for $10. :confused3

Last year the antibacterial went on sale 5 for $10 the day after Christmas if that helps any :)
