Good crowds yesterday. Not as good as last Wednesday’s post-Thanksgiving lull but still decent. Lots of people - and less room to sit, etc - were there for the candlelight processional. I didn’t stay for it, myself.

One of my favorite things at DL around the holidays is watching the handmade candy canes get made. I’ll have one more chance to see it next Sunday before I head home to Chicago for the holidays. Two interesting things happened. They used to have people line up in front of the Candy Palace the moment the park opened to get a wristband, which enabled guests to buy a candy cane later. They did have a line (which was the longest I’ve ever seen for CCs). But people got on a waitlist of some sort. I imagine they gave you a return time or something similar. The line was long when I returned around 10:30 to watch them make the CCs and it entered CP right in front of the window where we see treats being made. I approached a CM immediately out front and asked if I could watch; if that was a privilege extended only to those in line. She then told me that they weren’t making CCs on the day of sale anymore. They started to make them back in July to meet the high demand and I wouldn’t be able to see any being made that day. I stepped inside… and saw exactly what I’d asked about: they were making CCs, just as they had in years past. So: sometimes CMs will tell guests things with absolute certainty… but they can still be absolutely wrong. I don’t think she did this intentionally. I think she merely misunderstood. But she did get it completely wrong. CMs are only human after all :-).

Met a lot of nice people, as per usual. The Buzz scoreboard has been working only sporadically for the past month or so. It didn’t work at all in the morning. I checked it shortly before I left around 2:00 and it was working, finally. But it seems to go up and down regularly.

Lines for POTC and HM weren’t as bad as they’ve been leading up to Thanksgiving. I suspect they’ll return to normal by next Sunday.

As many of you know, there was an unfortunate incident on Saturday night with a guest and it caused various backups and the like. By Sunday morning when I arrived around 7:15, things had returned to normal.

Some pics.

I looked for you on Sunday morning Wonkakid! We were second in line at one of the gates towards DTD. I was going to come say hello but didn't see you and didn't want to lose my place to check other lines. 😃

What amazed me was the amount of runners to get benches for CP and candy canes. One of the girls got shoved. Just outright sprinting and craziness on the left hand entry. I thought people were running for early entry but then we got there and only about 10 people were there before us. We walked pretty slow because we wanted to take it all in.

We did six rides from 730 - 800, it was fantastic!
