Has anyone ever eaten at Spoodles or Flying Fish on the BW? I'm interested in some opinions, good or bad :)

Penny :)

we ate at Spoodles - we really liked it. We had a selection of 5 or 6 starters and breads (not really pizza's but more than just bread, they had toppings on them) to share and desserts/drinks etc and it came to about $50 which we thought was very good value. I think if you have a main course then it could be quite pricey. The atmosphere is nice, it;s quite upmarket but kids are made to feel welcome (perhaps not so important for you;) ) I was just thinking that I could even smell the place as I was typing, but I've realised someone in the office is eating pizza :)

Yes, Pen, we've done both and they're both great, although very different.

Spoodles' speciality is tapas which you can either choose as a starter, or just share a selection and not bother with an entree. The offerings are eclectic! The ones I can remember having are chilli shrimp, calamari, scallops, ham and cheese croquettes and koftas, although we've been there 3 times and I'm sure there must be more. The flatbreads are delish! We especially like the four cheese (the dollop in the middle is Boursin). The fayre is supposed to be Mediterranean, although I read somewhere that every country bordering the Med is represented and that's not far wrong!

Flying Fish is one of my favourite WDW restaurants, along the lines of, and on a par with, California Grill, Artist Point, et al. Their speciality is fish (not just a clever name ;)), but there are plenty of other options on the menu. If you like fish though, it would be churlish not to have it here - it is superb.

Hi

We have eaten at Spoodles. DH didn't like his Calimari when it came complete with legs:rolleyes: We ate out on the Boardwalk - that was great:D

Yes, we've eaten at Spoodles a couple of times and really liked it.

The last time we felt it was pretty expensive for what we had, but still enjoyed it ;)

I've not eaten at Spoodles, but can give Flying Fish a big thumbs up.

I rank it up there with the California Grill and Jiko as my favourite WDW restaurants.

Yes we had a very enjoyable meal at Spoodles - the only issue that bothered one or two at our table was that it is noisy - one of those places where the noise seems amplified.

Thanks guys!

Sounds like they are both winners then - choices choices ;)

I've eaten at both and enjoyed them both. I did think they were both a touch pricey and would agree on the comments that Spoodles can get noisy, I think it's all the hard surfaces reflecting the noise.

Do take a look at the restaurants in the Swan and Dolphin as well because I thought the Mexican place there was absolutely fabulous.

I've eaten at Flying Fish - the food was very good, but over priced for what it was (I personally prefered Artist Point and Cal Grill but everyones entitled to their opinions). Unfortunately we had the waiter from hell who I think was not keen on the English. He gave first class service to the Americans around us but did we get good service - NO. He was rude, kept us waiting and was downright horrible. We could have been really mean and not left a tip but we did tip him - and do you know what he said?! He thanked us and apologised for the way he treated us but he had had 3 English families in earlier and they were extremely rude to him and didn't tip him.
