I was wondering if it's worth it?
For me? Nah. Especially not at current pricing. There’s nothing Disney does better, other than actually having Disney characters, than the other line I’ve been on (Royal).
Is it a bad cruise? No of course not. But is it *worth* the money? Heck no. Not in our opinion.
Food is both good and bad on both lines I’ve been on. We’re vegetarian so there’s not a huge set of choices for us. I have my fave and my omg never again options on both lines.
All servers have been mainly good, but I’ve gotten a LOT of pushback on Disney when I can’t finish or don’t want to finish my food.
Room attendants are all good.
I haven’t done concierge on Royal but there are good (and she left Disney) and cloyingly embarrassingly awful (that most others love but even my 10 year old was reacting negatively) concierge hosts on Disney.
How nice a ship looks is purely subjective; I personally prefer the clean white lines of Royal or what I’ve seen of princess. I don’t prefer the old fashioned dark colors of Disney or even what I’ve seen of HAL.
I don’t watch the production shows on either line. I will watch a comedian or a magician.
Ultimately if I can do a 7 day cruise and get everything equal and not have to worry about Mickey (character-phobic since childhood, though I don’t mind jack sparrow and even the dreamworks characters on some royal sailings) appearing, and I can get it for a fraction of the cost of Disney, I’m taking it.
