Okay… I’ve already spent a
whole day in Vancouver,
so, it’s time to leave, right?
Makes sense. The only continually diminishing resource is time.
I had reserved in advance and
I’m glad I had as there was a long
line of cars (that I subsequently
passed.)
See ya, suckahs.
Nice. Did they show you that you were #1 as you passed?
You want uneventful on planes
and boats.
Actually, I’m thinking you want
it on most forms of transportation.
Truth.
I say “surprisingly” because
I don’t really care for tea all that
much, unless it’s cold and
ridiculously sweet.
And has lemon in it.
Or some other flavour like
raspberry or peach.
And doesn’t really taste like… tea.
I'm not big on tea, either. Meh.
Yeah, despite being hungry,
it was way too much
food for one person.
I left the table with a serious
dent in the presentation, however!
Attaboy!
After checking in and receiving
a brief safety lesson, we set out
on a 3-hour kayak tour.
(A 3-hour tour.)
You have to do it. You have to.
For a three hour tour.
A three hour tour.
Ok, now it's stuck in my head. Thanks a lot.
Except… WWII mines had
magnetic triggers…
This mine-sweeper was made of… wood.
Stupid science, ruining a perfectly good get-rich scheme.
Wow, that thing looks disgusting.
The line barely moved, but
eventually, after about 30-40
minutes, I got to the front of the line.
Oh boy!
“One seafood chowder, please!”
“Sorry, we’re out.”
Definitely worth the wait.
Come on, now. They couldn't have announced that somehow?
All I’m going to say is that
the gardens are spectacular.
If you ever get a chance to
visit Victoria, I highly recommend it.
There’s a reason why the gardens at the
Canada Pavilion in Epcot are modeled after it.
Well, this I gotta see!
Wow! That's really stunningly beautiful.
So… if you like what you see
and want a similar garden…
Just hire 50-70 people to work
on it every day.
I'm just going to put in astroturf.
This guy looks like he's related to the Drexel University dragon.
I couldn’t pass up a stroll through
the Japanese garden
But of course not.
That bottom layer has coconut
in it, and I just can’t do coconut.
Totally with you there. Blech.
Yes, like Disney math, it made sense
to drive two plus hours to avoid
a one-hour drive.
Like Disney math, it makes perfect sense in the moment. On reflection, though...
They complied and I was able bring
Kay back about 10 bars.
(Which, a couple days later,
when I got back home,
she stated “Oh. My. God. Best ever!!!”
So, mission accomplished.
)
Worth it.
I did however get a lemon bar.
And that sucker was so rich and sweet
that it took me two days to finish!
Lemon sounds much better than coconut!
The Sea to Sky highway has been
named by no less illustrious institutions
such as Conde Nast and
National Geographic
as one of the top ten drives in the world.
Really? I'd better add this to the list then. I honestly hadn't heard of it before.
It was completely fogged and rained in.
I couldn’t see anything except for a few
feet of road!
Ugh.
Looks beautiful!
I can get behind that naming convention.
Beats Bridal Veil Falls.
I can't quote every photo, but this looks like amazing scenery!
Shannon Falls is located only a short
drive north of Vancouver and as such
is a quite popular place to visit.
(Apparently, it’s the Sea to Sky’s most
popular place to picnic.)
Wonder why.
This is taking the joy out
of flying ya know.
They really need to have
a pkondz only line set up,
don’t you think?
Disney offers a Fastpass line here, but you have to pay extra for it.
Here you go @franandaj,
my one and only food porn photo
of the trip!
And that concludes my
summertime excursions for 2021
I sure hope 2022 brings just a bit
more normalcy and a chance
to travel a tad farther abroad.
I sure hope and pray that's the case for you. And all of us! The cabin fever got to be unbearable last year.
