Are you going open to close? Will you rope drop? Are you eligible for the results entry time? When you say "popular attractions", what are you including? Is kiddo tall/ brave enough for Rock ' n ' Rollercoaster and Tower of Terror?
DAS can be enough to do everything in the park in one day, unless it's an extra busy day. You want to do the rides with the longest waits earlier in the day when your DAS return time will be closer, then switch to rides that don't get as high when things like Slinky and Rise are well over an hour. You can eat, shop, or watch shows while waiting for return times, plus make sure to get your two prebook return times to fill in as well.
Assuming you're on property, you can get a couple of rides done right at opening while you wait for your first long return time. For instance, pull Slinky, rope drop Mickey and Minnie, then see if Midway Mania or Saucers is still a short enough wait before riding slinky. You can them have breakfast while you wait for your Rise return time, use a prebook at Falcon, etc.
The problem comes in if you're going on an extra busy day or if rides are going down a ton and inflating the waits. Then, there sometimes just aren't enough hours in the day to get through all of the wait times. If Slinky is down at open, for instance, then the above strategy doesn't work and, when it does come back, it will likely start with a wait well over an hour right off the bat.
