Lunar New Year Celebration and Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival Return in 2023 to Disney California Adventure Park

On November 21, 2022, Disney Parks Blog announced that the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival will be back in 2023 and run from Friday, March 3 to Tuesday, April 25, 2023. The 54-day festival will run for the same amount of time as the 2022 festival.

In its announcement, Disney teased the return of 12 festival marketplaces (the food booths), as well as speciality food and drink items throughout Disney California Adventure, Downtown Disney, and the hotels at the Disneyland Resort. In addition to the marketplaces, guests will be able to purchase tickets to attend Carthay Circle Winemaker Receptions, Trader Sam's Mixology Seminars, GCH Craftsman Grill mixology seminars, and a Grand Tasting event at the Disneyland Hotel. Wine, beer, and beverage seminars will also return in 2023.

Returning family entertainment will include Jammin' Chefs, Chef Goofy, and “Alice’s Wonderland Bakery Unbirthday Party” show. Guests will also be able to enjoy complimentary weekend culinary demonstrations, and artist events and signings.

Soarin' Over California will also return for the festival's duration.

Sunday, December 11, 2022

I'm not sure when they added this to the Disneyland website, but Disney has already announced the 2023 marketplaces. It is the same lineup of marketplaces we saw in 2020 and 2022.

Well I certainly didn't expect to get an announcement from Disney this early (perhaps to distract from some other news...?).

The grand tasting event at the Disneyland Hotel seems to be the biggest surprise -- likely aligning with how Epcot kicks off its F&W festival. And explicitly calling out Trader Sam's and GCH Craftsman Grill mixology seminars is also a bit of a departure -- and hopefully implies these will be offered more regularly throughout the festival. I still wish they would bring back the Festival walking tour that was created for the 2020 fest -- and I was lucky enough to go on before the global pandemic shut down the parks.

It should be noted that Trader Sam's has been offering popular mixology seminars periodically since the 2022 Festival.

Pre-pandemic, Disney would slowly release details about the DCA F&W Festival between November and the festival's launch. For 2022, there were just three announcements in the lead up to the festival. Hopefully we're getting back to more of the drip marketing campaign leading up to the 2023 launch.

So I'm bummed that we leave for home on the 3rd. I would love to be able to see Soarin over California again. Is there even the smallest chance that they will start showing it early?

Will Disneyland close early on Friday March 3, 2023 because of the Wine Festival???

Has anyone started booking any of the ticketed events? We have a few on the calendar.

https://www.showclix.com/events/28136

We were tempted by the April 21 Grand Californian Special Event because it just so happens that we have an overnight stay booked at the Grand that day. But my schedule is a little up in the air this spring and $255 x 2 is a lot to lose if we can’t make it.

So we booking a wine seminar for that day.

Thanks for posting!

yessss….thought about that one too! We booked one of the Carthay Winemaker receptions and one of the wine tasting seminars. They do a really good job with these events!

We booked the Disneyland sommelier wine tasting on 3/31 and a mixology class with The Blind Rabbit on 4/1.

I am very tempted to make an extra trip for one of the tasting events…

This event was cancelled, no reason given.

People who have attended the festival in previous years: If you're just going to DCA for a normal day of activities but want to sample wares at a booth or two, is there any advantage to getting a Sip & Savor Pass? You can just buy à la carte, correct?

There’s no advantage to getting the sip and savor pass unless you are going to buy enough items (it will either have 6 or 8 tabs) each valued at more than the cost of the pass divided by the tabs. If your not planning to buy that many items at that price I would just buy a la carte.

Scroll down to the part about F&W 2023. Some of the booths are already up and the menus posted.
Thanks, I saw that one but they still have a lot of items listed from last year for the alternate venues other than the 12 booths. I was working on a spreadsheet & realized that info was still from last year. Still waiting to see the official list from Disneyland itself. Hope they actually update all their menus on Friday. Also would be nice to know how much they will be charging for the Sip & Savor pass so I can work out maximum usage. I was there a week too early last year so missed everything. And they totally shut down two days after I arrived the only other time I was there during the Festival for the Pandemic .

What do y’all think of the F&W line up this year? https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/b...california-adventure-food-wine-festival-2023/
