Morning all. Took a sick day to get my flu shot as ordered by DW, and took oldest dd to orthopedist for shoulder pain. He thinks it is over usage of swim, no permanent injury, but that she needs to do some physical therapy, strengthen her shoulder muscles, and shut it down. She wasn't happy about that with HS swim season starting.

Well, we don't want anyone to think we are too smart. They will start posting there.

And now that my sports job is wrapped up for the winter I have picked up a new night job that was supposed to be about 25 hours a week, just to help us get stuff paid off so we can start planning another trip. Turns out it is going to be 30+ hours, on top of my other 2 jobs . Needless to say there is no chance "something" will be happening at my house anytime soon.

Well, you are busier than me. Hope you find the time to do "something", as it makes all the other things you do worthwhile.

Speaking of the Astros, unbelievable game last night. As they headed to the 7th, I'm thinking this is going to be over in 5 games but what a comeback. Twice. Despise the Dodgers from my old American League days so I enjoyed it.

Now that's holding a grudge!

Sorry to hear about the shoulder. Those are tough ones to heal. But she's young, that'll help a lot.

I have. When we lived up north I BBQd almost year round. But it turns out that when it's around -35 or so, propane pretty much turns to jelly.

I have a niece that encountered similar swim injuries.
She ended up leaving the sport after a while.

Not necessarily...
I only have to get from the house to the car and then from the car into the office.
Then by about noon the temps here are usually back up into the 60s or 70s
If the morning temps are above about: 35f-ish, then that's fairly doable.

Now...
If I were going to be sitting out in the cold for any length of time - say at a ball game or a competition of some sort - then the cool air would have time to start draining heat from your body. In that situation, some layers would be more in order starting at about the low 50s or high 40s

Thanks. She was never good enough to go to Olympics. Maybe an outside shot on a water polo team, but that's about it. She enjoyed doing it, i enjoyed that she exercised, and greatly enjoyed all the practice time to stay away from the degenerates.

I'm guessing your sports job has something to do with baseball, but not associated with the Astros?

I wish; I was actually working for an adult social league as an official. Actually we were more of a drinking league that played some sports. I officiated softball, soccer, kickball, and volleyball.
And I'm a Rangers fan, that way when football starts in September I can quit watching baseball.
