Disney Marathon January 7, 2007

So, how many runners fell out because of the heat?

Our son did finish. Do not know how many fell out.

There were 16,000 runners.

Good for him! Did he do the Goofy Challenge? That must have been really miserable.

He was in the 26plus mile marathon-- over 4 hours of running !

We were at the BW & MGM during the marathon today...it was a totally awesome sight seeing all those people (mostly walking; very few were still running or even jogging by the time we saw them)...made for some tricky maneuvering for us non-runners (crossing over from one side (Swan) to the other (Boardwalk) w/the steady stream of runners coming up (down?) the walking path from MGM--couldn't walk to MGM, but could take the boat...yesterday's half marathon was also really impressive to watch...we were in Epcot yesterday morning, and the race went thru Future World up to the lake (around the tree and back down)...again, a pain for those of us not in the race (or part of it) to get from one side to the other...but an incredibly impressive sight...saw a few runners after it was over this evening, some wearing some seriously cool mickey-shaped gold medals...altogether a memorable and impressive sight...congrats to all the runners/walkers...hats off to them!
