Disney News, Discussion & an Element of Fun - 2024 Edition

I wish they would do one at Animal Kingdom. Maybe it would disrupt the animals too much though. But that park could use another night time show.
I would actually swear that these random DS drone shows they keep doing are a test run for the tech at AK. If this latest one is successfully pulled off I would bet dollars to donuts we will get a drone show at AK when Tropical Americas opens to give all those people who are suddenly staying all day something to cap off the night.

Showtimes, Viewing Details, and a Sneak Peek of the Music for 'Disney Dreams That Soar' Drone Show

Disney has unveiled all the details for the upcoming "Disney Dreams that Soar" drone show that will run nightly from May 24 through September 2, 2024, at Disney Springs in Walt Disney World.

Disney Dreams that Soar Drone Show preview

Showtimes for the 9-minute show are 9 pm and 10:45 pm, with viewing areas located on Disney Springs West Side—along the waterfront between the Cirque du Soleil Theatre and Aerophile. Viewing areas for Disney Dreams That Soar will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Don't forget your MagicBand+ - it will come alive—lighting up, vibrating and interacting with the show.

Here is a first listen to the "Disney Dreams that Soar" music and a look at many of the Disney characters that will be created in the sky from 800 drones above the lake at Disney Springs.

Thank you for this info! I just added Disney Springs to my August trip plan, so I can see this.

Honestly, if they did that at the Lava Pool at the Poly I think it would significantly cut down on the people soup. Sure there are the magic band sensors but people are constantly piggybacking off actual guests to get in. It's one of the few things I dislike about the resort.
Love the Poly but can’t stand the Lava pool. Overcrowded and the only parts with shade are by the waterfall, so I am consistently getting splashed by kids living their best life.

Darn, it'll be gone before my next trip in mid October. Sigh.

Maybe it's a precursor to a permanent show somewhere else on property? Like Animal Kingdom??

No ... hushpuppy is savory, this is sweet. It is greasier than a donut hole. We used to make similar when younger, dropping dough into a deep fryer then rolling in powder sugar. They are dense and heavy but closer to a funnel cake.

A real NOLA beignet you could eat a dozen easily, like hot Krispy Kreme. You eat that many of these things and you'll sink that log boat.

Like a zeppole?

Memorial Day Patriotic Bunting Added to the Magic Kingdom

As Memorial Day approaches, the Magic Kingdom has embraced the patriotic spirit with festive bunting adorning its iconic spaces.

Just a couple of weeks before May 27, guests are greeted with vibrant red, white, and blue decorations at the entrance, setting a celebratory tone for both Memorial Day and the upcoming Fourth of July holidays.

The patriotic bunting can be seen prominently on the railings of the Walt Disney World Railroad station, featuring semicircles with white stars in the blue stripe. This classic decor, reminiscent of previous years, now arrives earlier than last year’s post-Memorial Day installation. Town Square Theater, where Mickey Mouse meets and greets guests, showcases two rows of bunting, while Tony’s Town Square Restaurant also sports this festive decoration. A single semicircle adorns the Main Street, U.S.A. Fire Station, adding to the charm.

Main Street, U.S.A. is fully dressed in patriotic pride, with bunting lining both sides of the street. The Emporium, Main Street Confectionary, and Town Square Theater are all decked out, offering guests a delightful and immersive experience that adds to the Americana feel of Main Street U.S.A.

The dole whip float is intriguing...do you slam the cider and eat the rest with a spoon? do you mix it? seems like if you drink it normal that the dole whip would push the cider and create a mess...a la drinking from a boot at a German beer hall.
