Proof of time is required for 2:30 and faster and the proof is due by March 1!
I mean possibly and we’ll know for sure once W&Ds site is updated. But again if we don’t see a hike accompanied with ‘photos are now covered by race fee’ note than I think it’s safe to assume what went down. That's a generous and mature take on the situation.
My less generous and less mature take on it is that they know the theme will be popular and that the races will sell out even at an increased price, so why leave money on the table? I hope they at least decrease the number of runners and spread things out a bit for the safety and enjoyment of all.
The reason I’m thinking it is because of all the spot selling. Like I said we’ll find out when Wine and Dine updates in a month ish. But if the price hike and this aren’t related to all of the people selling the photos I’ll be surprised and we’ll know if it continues to FLIt will be interesting to see though I doubt it…. If they do however I might just save the $100 add on to my AP as I mainly pay that extra for race weekends
Yeah that I was surprised by. That’s sooner than normal I’m pretty sure. Maybe their trying to make sure they have better corral management this time?Proof of time is required for 2:30 and faster and the proof is due by March 1!
If that's the reason why the prices have increased, it's hard to justify. My photos rarely look good so I normally don't splurge on that.Wonder if photos being included means they'll take more or or less photos during the race.
That's waaaaaaaaaaaay too early. I feel like they didn't even have that many issues with POT, what really got jumbled was the shorter races, for who knows what reason.Proof of time is required for 2:30 and faster and the proof is due by March 1!
I doubt the Photopass people have that much say on it. Though if they’re covering it they might put more out to avoid more complaining.Wonder if photos being included means they'll take more or or less photos during the race.
Not to defend but I doubt any of the Photopass people had a lot of training on how to shoot a moving object going in. Pretty much most photos are standstill. If that's the reason why the prices have increased, it's hard to justify. My photos rarely look good so I normally don't splurge on that.
I'm glad they are increasing the time, but that is super soon to be due. I wonder if they are adding a POT corral or just expanding the ones they have.Proof of time is required for 2:30 and faster and the proof is due by March 1!
I think this is also them justifying the fewer photos overall fwiwI'd be surprised if the WDW photos are included. In Disneyland it is already included in Genie and that hasn't moved over.
That is a good point, but it doesn't matter what race I do, Disney or otherwise, my photos don't look good. I did get my photopass with Edna at Springtime, but I was standing still and the photopass was so much better than the pictures on my phone due to the humidity.I doubt the Photopass people have that much say on it. And as someone who has photographed race horses. Everything changed when you’re dealing with a moving object.
WDW has had years to perfect the craft. DLs photo people from the first go around might not even still be there. So you’ve got people trying to understand new settings and all that.
In other words I think/hope that it’s going to improve quality wise with this weekend as people get better adjusted to how to do race photos
Ooh yeah can’t help there. Rough problem that’s for sure. That is a good point, but it doesn't matter what race I do, Disney or otherwise, my photos don't look good. See that could make sense because the virtual series tend to be lower cost for us and still sell out. Where as the race weekend virtuals I don’t think have sold out in a while. So they could add another series in and make a better profit there.RE Virtuals and “leaving money on the table” I wonder if Disney instead of adding virtual options to in person races will instead end up adding another unique virtual event like summer shorts and 12Ks of Christmas
I agree.... I think they added photos into the race costs so they can have less amount of photographers then WDW and be able to say it was included in the price so do not complain.I think this is also them justifying the fewer photos overall fwiw
WDW has more photos overall (and higher quality if my photos are representative)
I love the 10K distance but am not loving the graphics for the HM theme. The tall skinny ghost reminds me of the Monstars from Space Jam. I'm loving the half graphics, but I haven't done a half in 10 years, and really would not enjoy training for one during the summer.Anyone else starting to have FOMO about this race? I really like those designs/themes and the wake-up times weren't nearly as painful at Disneyland coming from the East Coast.
Be interesting to see what issues they fixed. Plus chance of having a perfect race in the future...
It should be noted there’s a non zero chance will have a different course for the half at least. The half’s historically went different ways depending on what race weekend it was. (DL went west, Tinkerbell North, Avengers southwest, and Star Wars east) so I don’t think we’ll have a carbon copy course for the 1/2I feel like these themes are aimed directly at me, but I'm hesitant to go back in person after all the issues. And I really dislike the HM course, so fingers crossed for virtual.
I'm pretty sure they outsource the entire virtual fulfillment process, so it isn't a matter of fewer Disney cast members, but I can still see costs being an issue. There are hiring shortages still happening everywhere, plus materials and shipping costs have skyrocketed lately.
Happy to see POT bump back to 2:30 and hope it holds for other races. But it is very strange the timing is so tight. I'm guessing the entire rD staff takes their time off between the end of this season and start of the next, which is when they'd need to be verifying those submitted POTs. Seems like they are trying to get them done before they wrap up after SS in April.
