Disney's ALL-STAR SPORTS RESORT Information & Questions

What is everyone's favorite section to stay in? and why?
Honestly this All Star has the smallest footprint and no place is awful.

I have stayed in all sections, multiple times.

My favorite is Surf's Up. The location simply is great!! I know it is preferred but at times the rate difference is minimal and worth it. Love the whole boardwalk beach theme.

Last week I stayed in Hoops with my room close to the back of Surf's Up building. Our walk was just a few minutes to main building. I've stayed in a few Hoops rooms (Bldg 2, never 3) and it is a short walk and close to my car. I might feel different if put in 3.

I've had several trips in Center Court and while great for getting to car if I need (last week never saw my car) there are a few rooms at the back that are a jaunt. And I don't have any interest in tennis. 😏 AND the back rooms of Tennis face a huge service facility in the parking lot and I don't like being over there with so many people coming and going.

Touchdown not a fan. It can be noisy if you face the football field or road. If you are on back of 7 that is a great location, but the odds are not in my favor.

I'll go against the grain and say we do not like Baseball. Most of it is the longest walk with some rooms the farthest walks at the hotel. We don't care about the quiet pool (which usually is not quiet) and we've run in to parking far from room there.

For me it is Baseball. Not to far from the food court and busses but a little quietor.
We also like Home Run Hotel-love the detailed theming and we like being close to Music if we want to hop over there.

When Touchdown! was Standard we loved the rooms on the back of Building 10 that were steps away from the Bus Stops, but now that Touchdown! is Preferred,if we are going to pay Preferred,we would rather be in Surf's Up!

We're staying at Sports next month.

Is Mousekeeping still every other day?
We were there a couple weeks ago and that is what the sign in the room said. We only stayed two nights and had the do not disturb up so not completely sure if that’s what they actually do.

I think everyday Housekeeping at the Values will never come back.

We are 4 years out from the start of Covid-it would be back by now if it was coming IMO.
You are probably right and that is sad because their rates are not "value" rates. It is just profits over guests. Ironically they pay the manpower to spy on your room each day but don't want to balance that with minimal service.

We'll probably have lots more stays at Sports (or POP if I get a decent rate) and I'll continue to grab a pile of towels off the housekeeping carts, take out my own trash, wipe down our own table etc .... but we are very neat & organized. It really is a black eye to the so called "Be Our Guest" Disney hospitality.

Does All Star Sports have the newer digital TV system that supports casting from smartphones? If so, all rooms or just certain areas?

We just stayed in Sports 7108(us), 7109(father in law) and 7110(friend) from March 19-29. These rooms had a newer Samsung TV with the Welcome "our name" on them when we arrived. There is an option to cast on that home/welcome screen. You need to be on same WIFI, and follow the instructions on the TV. It no longer has an option for Samsung "SmartView" Mirror Screen, instead its basically Chromecast, but the connection process is not exactly the same as "at home".

There are limits. We could not cast Youtube, Youtube gives an error about not being approved for it or something. We could cast Disney+. Plex also worked. We didn't try others.

I don't know if all TVs are like this. When we stayed in June 2023 in room 7112, and December in Room 1321, the TV was on the "Resort TV" screen on when we entered, and I don't recall if it had the option to cast or not. But based on pictures I took of the room, it looks like the same TV, so maybe they upgraded the software to add the new welcome and such? I just don't know.

Hello all!

Going to AS Sports in June. I have Apple Watch and planning to get my daughter a magic band. Does anyone know if they have a decent selection of magic bands there to buy in the all stars shop? (From the UK so can’t preorder)

My second question, I bought my tickets not directly from Disney.. they are linked in MDE. Are check in / guest services at the hotel able to give me a ticket card (thinking incase my daughter doesn’t pick a MB at the resort) or will I need to go to guest services at the park on the first day we visit? (Hoping to rope drop early entry so would rather not have to do that)

Once tickets are linked in MDE it makes no difference where they were purchased from. We were at Sports in Feb and did not have MB's. At check in at the hotel front desk we were each given a ticket/room card which worked as our room key and our tickets at the parks. Cannot speak for the shop as we were not interested in purchasing a MB and so did not look for them. They probably do have some but Disney Springs should have the largest selection.
