I am currently at WL and not particularlay happy with this new housekeeping policy this afternoon. I wasn’t worried when the new ‘room occupied’ signs arrived a few days ago, but today I’ve had a run in with security over actually using my sign. I ran the marathon this morning. When I got back to the hotel around 12:30 I of course wanted a shower, and to have a nap to recover. Housekeeping were on the floor at the time, so I put the sign up and the latch on when I realised they had not yet been in my room. At about 3:15pm there was a persistent knock at my door which woke me up. I answered the door (took some effort to move fast, the legs are very tired!). I was informed I was obliged to let housekeeping to clean the room. I politely let him know I was asleep, he had woken me and that I’d just run the marathon and would like a rest, but he refused and told me that housekeeping had to have access before their shift ended at 5pm (despite only having had the sign up for 2-3 hours). Apparently it is unacceptable for me to be on the bed with my legs up whilst this happens. I’m pretty mad - housekeeping have been in my room every day of my stay so far, this is the one afternoon of a 9 night stay that I wanted privacy and rest and I’ve essentially been told that is not going to happen.
