Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

We are staying at the YC Sept 25-Oct 1...we will be arriving late (plane is supposed to land at 8:30pm at MCO) via the magical express. We usually have the magical express handle the luggage, but since it will be late...I was wondering if we should get our own luggage from baggage claim and bring to the ME? Any thoughts? Thanks! My first post...

Yes, I think that time of night it would be best to go to baggage claim to retrieve your luggage. No worries about staying awake to receive!

Checking in from the Traverse my SAB buddies, I should reach la casa de Pas around 9pm tonight. I wanted to give my overall review of Beach Club.

Checking in: initially I was underwhelmed as they were doing paving in the self park and it was starting to rain. Walking toward the entrance I spotted a snake in the grass by BCV so I screamed like a weirdo. Also we saw turtles and a small alligator in the water by the entrance as well. Yes I am a wimp, my DD8 wanted to pet it lol. I'm fine with the ducks and turtles thank you very much. I will say it's cool to see the wildlife though.View attachment 119458 The lobby was busy, and I went to the front desk since I didn't trust our MBs to be set up correctly. They called a runner to bring us up to the 5th floor. We were given our welcome champagne in the lounge and escorted to our rooms which were ready, 5719 & 5721 both had full balconies and a gorgeous pool view. Paul took our MBs which were not working and fixed all the check in info which strangely disappeared from the system. All was now good.

Rooms: very nice and light. The bathroom door is hard to close with the toilet there, however no one ever closes a door in our family..the beds were so comfy!

Location: I underestimated how perfect BC is for Epcot!! Loved the walk! First thing I did was activate our APs and get our DAS for the parks. Then I got some fish and chips :)

The resort: SAB is like having 5 different pools. It rained every afternoon so we didn't get as much swimming in as we liked. This was our first trip that we had rain like this, we've been spoiled in the past. This is by far WDWs best pool, we didn't have issues getting a chair and we only used one for the seven of us. Mostly to hold our stuff, but finding a chair in the shade would've been doable (just not multiple chairs). I loved the noodles and tubes which were always plentiful. My kids even enjoyed the kiddie pool on the pirate ship.

Food: we ate at both Captains Grille and Cape May Cafe for breakfast and dinner. I would recommend Captains Grille breakfast most definitely. Unfortunately there was no AC the night of our Cape May dinner so as tasty as it was we were too hot to eat. Hurricane Hanna's was always a madhouse but the food was decent. Most of our meals were quick service in the parks.

Mousekeeping: awesome! I must have a years supply of my favorite sea salt H2O toiletries. And I loved the turndown chocolates! I love chocolate period :)

Club level: offerings were plentiful and the staff was great. DH and I drank our weight in beer and wine, I never had an empty glass. The desserts were the best. We were always able to find a seat and the ease of giving the kids breakfast made it worthwhile. I doubt my DH will ever go without CL again. This is a big deal, he's a WDW cheapskate ;)

I was fortunate to meet our Teena and give her a big hug. For those who went to the agency dessert party those were my girls and my TAs DDs running up and down the stairs inside. I let them do it because it was my birthday and therefore my party. Honestly I let them run around because they were having fun, and the desserts there were meh. Illuminations on my birthday was priceless however.

Overall, Beach Club is our favorite. Welcome home, every time we heard that we really felt like it was our home. Everyone was friendly and kind, and now it's time to plan the next trip! Thank you to all my kind DIS friends here for all your trip planning help!

I've posted pics before but why not post again :grouphug:

Sounds like a wonderful trip!! Glad to hear you loved the BC so much!

I couldn't travel with extended family, we've traveled with my MIL but that's about it. Yay for January! We have to go earlier in the summer next year as well, there are some other deals just not as magical but pretty good. I was trying to look out for you and your princess specifically based on DIS pics :) my girls are very friendly as well. I do remember a toddler there come to think of it

I think I'm just used to my own family glitches. I don't have a lot of energy left to learn the glitches of others. The most successful extended family trip involved multiple rooms and we only met up to have dinner once in a while.

I think I've just managed to talk my husband into a Disney cruise in a couple of years, so my vacation money might be spent working towards that. My kids have been begging for one for a while now but my husband keeps thinking of the E. coli cruise of a few years back. Thanks to friends who have been on a few, he might be on board. No pun intended.

How how do you get access to the magical deals you all keep talking about?
And I would love to do a cruise!! My husband doesn't want to do Disney more than every five years (well we are making it back in four)! But that is a long time in between....

Thanks for the fantastic, detailed review and especially the gator picture. I'm going to see if I can find it!

I was momentarily caught up but I think I am 5 pages behind again!

Oh, well, that's going to have to wait because tomorrow morning I am on my way to Florida.

Can't wait to see my buddies and to meet some new friends.

Anyone have any requests for me to check out? I'll try to get a definite price on a case of water from the Marketplace, the make of the daybed, early morning bus and boat times if I have a chance.

Everyone have a great week!

:cheer2:

Google magical deal, maybe add in the words Disney, and even "agency exclusive" and see what you come up with :) It's elusive as we can not mention names on the forums. My agent said that next year's deals will likely go live at the end of sept for labor day next year, and in october for other 2016 deals.

Yes and yes!! Sounds awesome!! I think that really it will just be busier than the other days that week where it closes at 7 for the Halloween party- night of joy is only Friday and Saturday. We are doing 1900 park Saturday night after a day at SAB hopefully, 8 am BOG Sunday and crystal palace for dinner! My 3yo's first time at Disney! Do you arrive Saturday too?

We have similar plans! We arrive on Friday the 11th, I added an extra day so we can enjoy a full day of SAB on Saturday:woohoo:and Magic Kingdom on Sunday. We leave for the Dream on Monday..second year in a row. We absolutely love it! I hope you convince your husband, your family will really enjoy it. They are the cleanest ships and really take hand sanitizing seriously!! Maybe we'll bump into each other. I have two girls, 6 princess: and 8 princess:they will be the wild ones at the pool!! lol

Well it's 2:03am and I think I am done with the FastPass + reservations. As you said, it wasn't hard, but I didn't "calm down" till I signed out...lol. I did not get A&E...completely gone before I even had a chance. My little one will be crushed. :guilty: I did however book the Frozen Sing-a-long as a FP at DHS......good or bad decision? I just wanted to make sure she did have a chance to see them somehow. Let me know if I've made a mistake. I have no idea if I spaced the passes too close together or too far apart...LOL. Planning around shows like Nemo and FOLK...I have no idea how long they run...but hopefully all will work out in the end. Optimism, correct?:sunny: HUGE Thanks to all you wonderful BC/YC 'ers who helped me with my questions. You helped ease the stress. Can it be October now?? Okay, I'm rambling and its after 2am...first day of school tomorrow...I'm going to look just lovely at the bus stop, coffee in hand!

dont worry too much. Keep checking. Do you know how to search for available FPs? Just remember to try and change them one at a time, because if the only A&E is overlapping with a time you have already booked you wont see it. I did this systematically for our last two trips and got A&E each time, one time for 6 people! Dont give up! Worst case scenario you go right at rope drop and wait a little.

You might want to see if you can get an A&E FP just for you and you DD if you haven't tried that. Better luck with smaller groups. I've read on Easywdw that there's not much advantage to getting a FP for the sing along...but I got one just in case. I may switch it out if we can get into an earlier show.
