DVC Category Upgrades?

I've been reading through old posts and seen that people have successfully paid for category upgrades at checkin on reservations they've made with points on DCL and in the hotels that aren't attached to DVC (like the Poly and the Grand Californian), but has anyone done it on normal DVC reservations? Like, from a studio to a 1 bedroom?

And does anyone know how much this would cost, if they do it at all?

Cash upgrades are not available on point reservations at DVC resorts. Upgrades in general are few and far between at DVC resorts, and are usually the result of a mechanical problem in the room, and having no other rooms of the same class available.
