does anyone know?

DisneyWorld is raising ticket prices starting Sunday. It's the 2nd time they've raised prices this year. Does anyone know if this is true for DisneyLand also?

DW just changed it's ticket prices Jan 1 as well. But they are changing again tomorrow.

From the Orlando newspaper:
Disney to raise prices for second time this year

Walt Disney World said today it is increasing its base ticket price to $67 Sunday, the second price increase this year.

Disney officials did not say what is prompting the $4 increase -- which also affects prices across the board in the company's "Magic Your Way" flexible ticket plans -- except to say the new price is in line with the needs of the travel industry.

The base price went to $63 on Jan. 1, up from $59.75 in 2005.

The latest increase amounts to a 6.3 percent hike in the price of a basic one-day, one-park ticket to any of Disney's four parks: Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney-MGM Studios or Disney's Animal Kingdom.

"We're implementing this to better coordinate with the overall travel industry," said Jacquee Polak, Disney's director of media relations. "We believe we offer a great value and remain competitive in the market."

Historically, Disney World and Orlando's other two theme park resorts, Universal Orlando and SeaWorld Orlando, have raised prices within a few weeks of one another to keep relatively close. Universal went to $63 in January and SeaWorld went to $61.95 in December.

There was no immediate word on whether either of them expect to raise prices soon, though Becca Bides, SeaWorld's director of communications, said that park's prices are based on SeaWorld business, not Disney competition.

That I am aware of. But unlike WDW Disneyland tickets are only good for 1 calendar year. Meaning those purchased today, would have to be used by first Sunday in January. While, WDW ticekts can be good forever.

Also DL never announces their ticket price increase like WDW. At WDW they always announce a day or two ahead of time to give people a chance to buy tickets. Not true at Disneyland, the announcement always comes the day of the increase. You never read in the newspaper that they will be increasing, instead you read that they have increased their price. There is really no way to tell when DL will increase their prices. They don't always increase every year and they have increased more than once in a year. And it has not always been in January. In the past couple years most AP increases have been in the fall, and ticket prices have generally increased when they release new ticket expiration dates, but that is not set in stone. DLs ticket prices and AP prices don't usually change on the same day.
