check your inventory to see if vmk gave you an extra pair. I just finished the quest on a second character, and found an extra pair of red (purple) baseball pants in my inventory. I'm quite certain this was an extra red pair, as I had already dressed my character in his new pants. I even double checked it! Anyway, then I logged off then on again, now the pants are missing. If you have the extra second pair of pants, maybe trade them to another character, as my extra disappeared after logging off.
Edit: Ok, here is what happened. I won the red baseball pants just now on another character. Before checking inventory, I clicked on the shirt (clothing) button at bottom of screen and changed into the red pants. Then I checked my inventory and there was a pair of red baseball pants there too -- so I was wearing a pair and had a pair in inventory.
I brought my main character into the same room and tried to trade the inventory pair to her. Arg....doesn't work. Oh well, it was worth a try!!
