How does DAS work with a party of 8?

Thank you!

Having a limit of 6 per ride won’t be a problem at all; there would never be a reason to need more.

So I guess that begs the question: if grandma wants to ride space mountain but the group uses DAS to get on and she’s doing rider switch, does her rider switch pass count as a DAS return time, or is it a separate system?

Or Would she need the original DAS pass in order to trigger the rider switch pass, and since she won’t tap in to the system until she’s ready to ride, she won’t be able to use DAS with the 4yo while the group rides space mountain?

I only ask because I need to plan the itinerary in advance so the kids can know the schedule to reduce frustration. If we can’t combine rider switch/DAS, we will plan our day differently than if we can.
DAS, lightning lane, standby; it's all the same with rider swap. Everyone utilizing the swap must be eligible to enter the line the same way the initial right even though 1 or more stay behind. After party 1exits the ride party 2 plus one guest if party 2 waited alone enters the lightning lane and rides the ride. If you are using DAS to enter the line the DAS rider must be riding and since they have to scan first they will be in party 1. Nothing prevents them from being the additional guest in party 2.

Ok, so that means we’d (party of 8, 2 DAS users, one ineligible for most rides with height restrictions) need to reserve a DAS return time for seven people instead of six for rides that DD4 won’t be going on, but only five guests would ride with the DAS user in group one, and then the “extra”/6th DAS guest would ride in party two.

Does anyone know if this is allowed? As in, would we be able to book a DAS return time for 7 guests instead of the allowed six if only six will be riding at a time, and the seventh is using rider switch?

Or should we plan to maybe have the rider switch adult use genie+ to access the ride after the main group has ridden instead of using the rider switch system?

If your 4 year old isn't riding and is a DAS user, you cannot have anyone using her DAS pass for that ride.

Right, and we wouldn’t. We would be using the 11YO’s DAS for those rides.

So, you wouldn't have a child swap - you would have both an adult and the 4 year old (the 2 not on the 11 year old's DAS) not riding and no adult needing to child swap b/c they wouldn't have a reservation for the ride.

That may be one of those "it depends" situations that you really can't expect. Some CMs may allow it, others may not. The CMs at the attraction have final say on allowing extra on any given ride Return Time. If they will allow 6+DAS-holder for a Return Time, the 6th can Rider Swap. They may or may not allow a Rider Swap if the full party of riders aren't listed on the DAS. I would plan that someone may need to either skip that attraction (rotate which adult does something 1:1 with the little guy) or buy Genie+ for attractions the little one can't do.

Thanks for the clarification! Knowing that ahead of time will be really helpful so we can plan on not being able to do rider switch. Maybe we will just get Geinie+ and use that instead of DAS for the rides we need to do rider switch on.
