I am pretty cheap so looking at the totals together for our 2 -2024 is rough. We have also always been a once a year big trip family. Maybe even 1 big trip every 18m-2 years. I think going without trips During covid plus our kids finally being easy to travel with has made us increase our trips.
I’m having a hard time figuring out budgeting for multiple trips in a short amount of time. For example, we are going to Aulani next month. I have about $2000 in Disney gift cards saved but really hoping I don’t need it. If we don’t spend it that money will move into our 2024 budget.
Anyway.. we have 2 trips planned.
March/April Easter at WDW
3 days at VGF studio/ 4 days at BLT 1 bedroom standard
1 day ticket to Magic Kingdom Breakfast at CRT
Discovery Cove with Seaworld and Aquatica
Dining to include Chef Mickey breakfast, Narcossee dinner, GFC, Steakhouse 71 and Hoop de Doo
Total cost is coming around $6000 (we are dvc so I’m just counting dues on the points used, we paid for our contracts as we bought them so dues are what is coming out of my budget every month) I can cut this back a bit especially our dining. Doubt my kids care about eating at Narcossee but I certainly love it.
We did rent out some extra dvc points so that brought in around $1400 and I am going to cash a couple hundred dollars of credit card points so out of pocket it’s more like $4000.
Our Nov. 2024 is still up in the air. We are doing a cruise on Disney Fantasy for about $6500. Im hoping to have enough points to pay for the flights.
Here is where it gets tricky.
My ideal trip would look like this:
Friday: arrive at Wdw 2 nights on dvc points
Sat: Epcot dinner at Biergarten to celebrate our anniversary Ride Guardians(kids and DH haven’t yet)
Sun- sail away on Fantasy not doing any excursion/focusing on Disney islands and the ship so not much $ needed
Sat-come back spend night at Universal hotel/ attend Orlando informer event if dates line up
Sun-fly home
My ideal trip is well over $10,000 once you start adding on transportation and other things. Sure I can use discounted gift cards and credit card points but that only goes so far.
This trip will all depend on how much I work these next few months. If I work a lot of extra shifts like I did this year, my ideal trip can happen. If I stick to my normally scheduled part time hours the trip will be more like fly to FL, stay at Hyatt mco, cruise next day, come back to FL and fly home. Either one works and we will have a great time no matter what.
