(inspired by Pat Fan) Did you wear braces and how old were you?

I'm getting them for the first time probably in April, at age 33. I have every last thing wrong with my teeth - crooked, protruding fangs (think Dracula!), overlaps, overbite, crossbite, you name it!!! Can't even begin to tell you how many job interviews I blown the second I opened my mouth! First I am getting 8 teeth pulled, then braces for over three years, with probably every last appliance thrown in - headgear, cranks, elastics, etc. Should be a lovely three years! Then a pernamant retainer until I drop dead. Oh yeah, and no insurance. It will cost about $10,000.

But no doubt about it, attractive straight teeth are a NECESSITY in life nowadays!!

Never had them. I was going to need them because I was a little buck toothed. Unfortunately, I got pushed into the shallow end of a swimming and broke both of my front teet off and got crowns instead. I would have rather have had braces.

I got them in 10th grade and was supposed to wear them for a year and a half. I convinced the dentist to take them off after a little over a year...I wanted my braces off for my junior prom. Thankfully he was cooperative.

My goodness Kath.......interesting way to get your teeth straightened!!! Ouch!

HugsforEeyore......I had 8 teeth pulled, too. Good luck to you!
