July 3rd: Safe D does not begin with me
So we have always gone to MK on the 3rd instead of the 4th of July. Pretty much because I don't have time for crowds and Epcot is better on the 4th, except this year......
We went to the park in the early afternoon so we could chill for a bit before I had to set up my tripod.
First stop was the Plaza for this wonderful overpriced ice cream sundae.
We had a FP for BTMRR so off we went to Frontierland.
I am in love with how this picture came out.
We went on the TTA next for one last attraction before we got to partay it up with my tripod.
And then the fun began.
If you remember on this day, a picture was going viral online. It was all over Twitter, Facebook, etc. It is on this page here:

I'm just shocked we didn’t die. Really.
The lightning that occurred on this night was some of the worst I have seen in FL. So I had set up my tripod to the right of the partners statue so I could get the fireworks and the statue in my shot. I set up my tripod like 3.5 hours beforehand and then it started to rain. The PAC CMs scattered to, I am guessing, the utilidors, to take shelter. And there we were with my camera covered in a plastic bag, no ponchos, and a broken umbrella to take shelter. I was not leaving my spot. It was just not happening.
So there we were in the middle of this lightning storm, soaking wet, and cranky. We were one of the only people outside in the whole hub at that time. This storm was off and on for hours, and then fireworks got delayed.
I had befriended one of the PAC CMs who was shocked I stayed outside in the storm without dying. She also helped a sistah out, aka yours truly, with dealing with the people next to me because they kept crashing into me and my expensive little baby. She was like "These people just stood out here for hours in the rain and lightning for this spot!" But really.
So basically all I am trying to say here is that Safe D does not begin with me whatsoever.
Fireworks got delayed for over an hour, but once they finally started, it was great. I mean, 3rd of July fireworks are always amazing, duh.
Boy, did it feel nice to change when we got home.
P.S. I LOVE YOU MUM cause I know you wanted to kill me on this night. MUAH!
