WOW...this site is great! I have been on these boads for quite a few years, but never ventured here.

DH has wanted to loose some weight (about 60 lbs) for quite some time now. He works from a desk, often at 12 hour days. He comes home at 8:30 pm, and I save him a plate of dinner to heat up. There is very, very limited time for him to exercise.

He told me last night that he stopped at LA Weight Loss and wants to join. It will cost $500!!!! I asked him to just give me a month to try it own my own, but he is insisting on doing this LA program. I have never had a weight problem, so I really can't say that I know how he feels. He really wants to do this.

My questions are:
Has anyone had any success with LA Weight Loss? With our schedule, it is SO hard to cook for the family now...will we all be able to eat the same thing? (I have 2 boys 12 and 13).
I am stuck in a 10 foot deep rut when it comes to cooking. On the LA program will we be able to sit down as a family and eat together? DH feels that if he pays this money, it will make him follow a meal plan.

We could all stand to eat healthy, and I certainly don't mind a change in my cooking habits. I just hope DH is not getting ripped off and will be dissapointed. :(

Thanks for any info,
Karen

I don't know anything about that program. :( sorry.
A few years ago I lost (met goal) 22lbs. I cut my food in half and only ate when I was hungry and stopped when I felt full. (not unbutten your pants full) I lost the weight in 3 months. It was amazing how fast it melted off. I ate anthing I wanted (which was nice because I hate cooking 2 separate meals) but watched the portions and only ate if I was truly hungry. Stopping at full was hard but I learned over time. I need to do it again. I kept the weight off for about 3 years and then slowly gained it back and this passed year was full of trials and troubles here and I ate to comfort myself.

I am not sure about LA wieghtloss but I do know that Weight watchers works and that is something that you can set down as a family to a nice healthy dinner. It is worth checking out. you pay per meeting or for a block of meetings depending on what is avalable in your area. Best part is it is much cheaper than $500. Check it out Weight watchers

I don't know about the LA Weight Loss systems but here's a link to diet reviews that I've found helpful. In this article they rate/review different diet plans.
