New snacks on Dining Plan

ohhh....just had a thought about the Turkey Legs in Frontierland *yummmmmy* I can't remember how much they are but wonder if they are included as a new snack option.

Sorry, turkey legs are more than $4.

I've never had either, but they sound yummy! We are going in Sept, and I am finding many new things to try. Just trying to make a list of snacks to get on my itinerary- so far, I have Dole Whips, School Bread, ice cream sundae, Figaro Fries, dumplings, chili, and a slurpee at AK. Should I add French Toast Loaf and Funnel Cake? Anybody have pictures? I'd like to convince DH to skip breakfast at the food court if we're going to be stuffing ourselves on a daily basis with all of this yummy goodness! Just thought of another question- do you think they'll include a cup of soup as a snack? I'd love to try a cup of corn chowder at AK or Lotus Blossom.

Funnel cake is a doughy mixture that is placed in hot fat through a funnel. The funnel is moved back and forth to connect the dough together. The funnel cake is flipped to cook both sides. It is traditionally served with confectionary sugar. It ends up being about the size of a paper plate. They are very yummy and high on the calorie count. I used to make these at the Kutztown Folk Festival for the Virginsville Grange (I am not lying!) when I was a kid with my family who were all proud card carrying members of the Virginsville Grange! It was my great grandmother's recipe! Don't miss the funnel cake!

So if new items from the bakery have been added , esentially breakfast at the food courts at the resorts ie cinnamon roll, croissant, muffin or chese danish can be purchased with snack credit ? :)

Wow! So now I've gone from thinking about popcorn and Mickey Premium bars to thinking about how many times I can feasibly visit Boulangerie Patisserie without looking like un couchon and treating my friend to a Dole Whip... and Mickey Premium Bars! (I love those things!)

Oh, please please please don't raise the price of a strawberry tart before I get there next Friday!

Is funnel cake a snack now too?!?!?!?!??!?!?!

Maybe. :)

It won't be at the American Adventure because it's over $4.

Sleepy Hollow was one on the menu at allears for under $4, so it could be.

Not sure where else they're sold.

Where are these sold?

We saw people with them during the parade last year & they looked so good - but we made do with our free orange juice bars. :)

While we do not get smoothies, we always get rootbeer floats with the same straw/spoon with a character on it. They are available at Chip & Dale's located in Camp Mickey's in AK. We are the proud owners of four with Mickey and eight with Pluto. We are hoping for four new ones this year to add to our collection.

I would think that Disney would have to update a dining plan brochure to include the actual places that you can use the credits at now, right?!?!? :confused3 I mean the current brochure lists were you can use them and if there isn't an update wouldn't it defeat the purpose of making a change? No one would know where you can use the snack credit if there isn't some kind of an update.

But, in any case, here is hoping the following are included on the plan:

Make you own caramel apple at Goofy's Candy Co (just saw a picture on the food porn thread and it looks wonderful )
The strawberry slushes from the Refreshment Outpost in Epcot  (I love these more than a Dole Whip and I love Dole Whips! :p )
Funnel Cakes
I'm sure there are more, but I can not think of them offhand. :smooth:

I just know that after hearing about the expanded plan, I know my resolve for healthy eating is in deep trouble come September. :lmao:

I was just looking at all ears for the other place you can a funnel cake and I guess this will answer all of our questions about the funnell cake being a snack option now. pirate:

Funnel Cake with sugar $4.50

-- add vanilla ice cream $1.75

-- add fruit $1.00

-- add chocolate sauce $.50

Bottled Water $2.00

Funnel Cake Gift Kit $21.00

The menu said it was just updated 04/2006. Does anyone know if the update was an increase to the price? I won't be suprised if we don't see more items that had been close to the $4.00 mark going just a little bit over now that this change is taking affect. :sad2: Oh, well, I am sure I still won't have a problem eating way to much food while I am there. :rotfl2:

I thought that too, but it would make more sense if they raised the prices before the snack change occured - not that what they do always makes sense. :)

I looked all over AllEars for the snack lists, prices etc.. and I couldn't find anything about the snacks on the DDP.

Can someone post the link to the exact page?
Thanks!

from allearsnet.com: Sleepy hollow (mk): Funnel Cake
dusted with powdered sugar or cinnamon and powdered sugar $3.29
topped with strawberries and whipped cream $4.29

this one might work (altho it was last updated last july...)

has anyone noticed if figaro fries and caseys corn-dog nuggets were lised as DDP on the menus?

Exactly what my DH said when I told him the good news.

Just keep in mind that not every place takes DDP. We may still be limited to the restaurants and kiosks listed on the existing plan. Sleepy Hollow isn't on the current published list, so I wouldn't count on funnel cake until someone actually verifies it. On the other hand, the Aloha Isle was also absent from the list and the Dole Whips are confirmed, right? So there is hope! I just wouldn't be counting any chickens when the changes have only just hatched!
