April 5, continued: girls night on the Bo Dwalk!
So. Bad trip reporter! I did not take room photos. But I snagged these from the interwebs:
That's pretty much what the deluxe alcove room looked like. We'd booked a double/double alcove room but they didn't have one for us and put us in a King alcove. The phone agent we talked with when we called down about the mix up was pretty rude and had to put us on hold several times as she was telling us that the room we had a booking confirmation for wasn't even a room type there... facepalm. (BTW it is, there are photos of them on the Dolphin website) We ended up with some resort credit after E used teacher voice on them.
The rooms connected at the corner and the other one looked more or less like this stock photo. We had two huge sets of windows in the connecting room since we were in a corner.
This was taken of me in the deluxe alcove room, the room worked out great for us since we could pull the chairs around the L-shaped sofa and have seats for everyone.
E decorated! The baskets were her gift swag for everyone and the white bags were my gift swag as a thank you to my friends for coming. I made them all a unique pair of ears and gifted each person with a collapsible water bottle like this
and I had these super cute buttons made!!!!
I also put in glow sticks and stickers, fun little things like that. We popped champagne in the room and just hung out. I think I probably made everyone watch a loop of Stacey's must dos that you must do when you're doing your must dos at Disney! At this point we were still waiting on a couple of girls to get to town and my friend Ash that lives in Orlando had to work, so wouldn't be joining us. The four of us ended up going to...
CAN YOU GUESS?
Il Mulino
Everyone was pretty tired - I had gotten up early to catch my flight, E and Kay had driven from Atlanta, and Sarah had gotten an early morning to finish things at home before picking me up at the airport. We wanted something convenient and nearby, so Il Mulino lounge suited us perfectly.
We all started with drinks, of course!
I had the Testarossa again ( Florida's Own St. Augustine Vodka, Grand Marnier, Fresh Cranberry Juice, muddled with Local Strawberries and Fresh Basil leaves topped with Fresh Ground Pepper - $15) , while Sarah had an aperol spritz ($13), Kay had the White Sangria (Sauvignon Blanc, Ketel One Vodka, Orange Juice, Pineapple Juice, Agave Simple Syrup, and Elderflower Liqueur - $13), and E tried the Mezcal Martini (Mezcal, pureed mango, spicy serrano pepper - $14).
We decided to start with apps and see if anyone needed more food afterward:
Meatballs, with an extra meatball ($16) "Polpette Al Forno - Italian Meatballs with Tomato Basil Sauce and Parmesan Cheese". You already know how I feel about these
Arancini, with an extra arancini ($12) - " Italian Rice Balls over Spicy Marinara Sauce"
Insacccati Misti ($24) "A platter of Italian Delights: Prosciutto, Mortadella, Soprassata, Cacciatorini, Parmigiano Reggiano, Roasted Red Peppers, Cherry Vinegar Peppers, and Buffalo Mozzarella" This was a very nice cheese and charcuterie spread. It came with SO MUCH parmigiano! We couldn't even finish it and we are no strangers to a cheese plate! We also went through a few dishes of the delicious little cheese crackers.
We passed on dessert in order to continue our Bo Dwalk evening, as I had something else in mind for a sweet treat. With TIW and gratuity, $110.42.
Have you been wondering what in the heezy I was talking about with the "Bo Dwalk"?
They didn't fix this the whole time we were there so it gave us a good laugh. You could see this sign well from our room so it was a funny theme for our weekend of fun!
Our destination, of course, was my faaaavorite place on the Boardwalk. I couldn't have E back at Disney for her first time in ages without showing her why I love it so much!
Ample Hills!!!!
We had such a great experience here this evening. There was a bit of a line, so a wonderful cm started a conversation with us and chatted with us the whole time while we waited. She told us about a friend who was engaged and we talked about my wedding too. Then when we got to the front of the line, she had her friend working behind the counter set me up with ice cream of my choice FOR FREE!!!! These ladies were soooo sweet. I even got their names! Alex and Natalie. It is always so special when cast members take time out of their busy shifts to make some magic and these ladies had it right! It was awesome.
She totally hooked me up with more ice cream than I even should have gotten for what I ordered and then she put those stinking adorable mouse ears on it! According to the CMs, the small cup is supposed to be two scoops - BUT - if you are willing to get a bit smaller of a scoop, you can totally do THREE flavors (just a smaller amount of each) so of course I went with the Nonna D's Oatmeal Lace (a bad habit I picked up from my grandma friend @Vernie822), the ooey gooey butter cake, and dark chocolate. SO amazingly good. The oatmeal lace continues to be my favorite but I love to taste them all.
I could tell you that we went on from here to have a wild and crazy night at Jellyrolls, singing our hearts out and drinking 56 drinks each, but it would be a lie.
E asked if I wanted to do Jellyrolls as it had been on the tentative itinerary and I abruptly blurted out NO! I was tired, happy, and full of ice cream. No one else really wanted to stay out either and I was afraid to exhaust everyone at the beginning of the trip. We took "the long way home", as I wanted to show the girls the beautiful view of the Boardwalk from across Crescent Lake on the Yacht and Beach side. While we were out, we got to see some of the high fireworks from Epcot. Depending on where we were at the time, you could also hear faint strains of the Illuminations music. My favorite!
(these are actually from a previous trip, I was a bad photographer during the bachelorette trip. Just wanted to explain why you don't see the fence on the beach that has since been installed)
Jules, my roomie in our half of the connecting room, had arrived. We chit chatted in bed for a while before hitting the hay. We had an early morning the next morning at ANIMAL KINGDOM!!!
