Okay, I'm still confused. So here's my situation, I am a DVC member and will be staying at OKW - I want to be part of the convention but I already own an annual pass - so I assume that I want to purchase the events only part of the convention, but then when I'm reading thru this post, I come upon this quote from Pete:

. You are not required to buy the convention passes in order to attend the events. If you have an annual pass, you can use that, or you can just buy a 1 day park ticket for each event, it's entirely up to you. The convention tickets are park hoppers, but do not include the water parks (only the plus passes include that). The convention passes include access to Disney Quest and Pleasure Island.

Are you talking about convention park passes, or do our lanyards plus ids get us into the parks for the events or are these an additional cost to the events? I'm sorry that I just don't understand this part. I so want to be a part of all of this fun.

Whenever they call me a dreamer, I think of Walt Disney and smile:)

I think the convention passes mentioned by Pete are the admission tickets. You still have to use some sort of admission to get into the parks for some of the events.

Iluvdisney, I was confused about that too. If I understand it correctly there are 3 different types of 'packages' or 'passes'. There's the room package which includes the resort room and all convention events. There's the events package which includes only convention events. And then there are special convention passes which are park passes sold at a special convention rate/price -- usually lower than regular park hopper passes, but unlike park hoppers these expire at the end of the convention or on a specified date.
Hope that helps ;)

The prices listed for the 4 and 5-day hoppers are the same as regularly-priced hoppers. But the ability to go to Pleasure Island and DQ are worth quite a bit - if you'll go there.

<IMG SRC="/infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif" alt="confused"> Okay, Pete. Hope you step in here soon. ;)

What's with the passes? I guess I'm a little confused too. Don't want to purchase park admission passes until I understand this better. :)

I just have a quick question. I know the cancellation deadline will be sometime in October, but what would the refund policy be in the event we had to cancel before the deadline. Would it be a complete refund of any deposits/payments we had made at that point or would there be a cancellation fee.

I hope I can make it, but I'm not sure I'll be in the same job so I won't know if I could get the time off until that issue gets settled.

Thank you so much for the all of the hard work you've done to put together such a wonderful event.

I sure can't speak for Pete, but this is the way I read that post...

You do not have to buy the special park passes (Convention Passes) in order to go to the events. However, since some of these events are held within the gates of the parks, you will have to have some form of admission media in order to get inside the park, to where the event is being held. So that could be the special Convention Passes...or it could be your Annual Pass...or it could be a 1-day ticket for just that park.

So for you iluvdisney, that would mean all you would need is the Event Passes, since you'll already have somewhere to stay, and you'll already have a way to get into the parks.

If I'm wrong, then Pete can give me 20 lashes with a wet noodle!

Hi Folks:

I've been busy on other projects, and have not kept up with the thread.

1) Yes, there will be shirts (and hopefully) pins just for the convention.

2) The events that we're hosting (like the Tower of Terror, Fantasmic Dessert, Illuminations Dessert) require park admission (that's not included in the price). If you have an annual pass, you can use that, or purchase your own admission, etc. The convention park hopper passes will be offered for convenience.

Hope that answers the question.

Thanks,
Pete

When I tried to reserve my resort package, I get a price of $120 MORE than what i added up on your earlier quote. My party consists of myself, adult :) a 16year old and 2 twelve year olds. I am getting charged extra somewhere. I read another post on this somewhere about a simular situation, but i can't find it now. Any one want a crack at this? I come up with a price of $1186. The reservation link comes up with a price of $1306. Thanks for any help. Gerri
