Lightning blitzed my modem and I have been unable to get to this forum to
write about our first stay home at vwl that ended on August 18th, all too soon.
We stayed at a studio. It was very very nice but I would not recommend it for a
husband and wife and two young adult daughters. It wasn't intolerable by
a long shot, but it did become a bit cramped after a while. Now that I am able to
bank some points we will do a one bedroom the next time.
But the location was terrific. So quiet. We were on the first floor. 1537, that faced
into the pine trees. You would never know the hubbub of the Magic Kingdom
was bit a few minutes away.
we loved the quiet pool, WHispering Canyon, and the Health Club. The most
minor of objections was that I wondered why those in the actual Lodge got
free papers every morning but I had to buy one whilst I relaxed in the wonderful
lobby each morning.
We only used the boat to MK once. On time both ways. But a bit crowded and
very warm and sticky. THis is in contrast to the boats we took from Boardwalk to
MGM and EPCOT.
As for the usual Boardwalk vs VWL exchange I don't think I can add much that
hasn't already been offered by those smarter than me. It really depends on
what you fancy. Next year we will try to get 3 or 4 days at Boardwalk and
then 3 or 4 at Vero but NOT because we didn't like our home. TO the contrary, I'm
very pleased that we have made our vwl choice. One luxury of DVC is that we
can change off.
Funny thing was that we thought we were disneyed out after 8 days and using
virtually all major and minor attractions. But we are already talking about going
back next year. THe good part is that we can do the attractions we still like
and are willing to endure long lines, fastpass notwithstanding, and we can
look forward to the always-new features DIsney always offers.
