Pin Trading in the disney stores

Not bad Claire, I went to the Arndale Centre store and they had one lanyard with pins on. I managed to trade two pins, I got a lovely Stitch one and a Disney's Animal Kingdom 'dangling' one, which is Mickey, Goofy & Stitch in a hot air balloon. My Dad traded one also, so I got another Goofy one too.
:P Talk about a small world. That Animal Kingdom pin was my mum's! We went to the Disney Store in Manchester on Saturday morning to trade. My mum traded that Animal Kingdom pin and a Bambi pin, and I traded an It's a Small World pin and a Narnia pin. :D My mum is happy that her pin got snapped up so quickly.

Wow, thats pretty cool that it got snapped up so quickly, and by another DISer!

Oh my gosh, that's amazing! :goodvibes I'm so pleased to know that my pin came from a DIS'er!! I saw your pins on there, I believe your Narnia one had gone too, as I didn't see that one! :thumbsup2 I love the Animal Kingdom one too :cutie:

I ended up getting the Stich & Goofy square too. The Mickey's that are available are wearing the same shirts as our CM's have over the past few years, they even have Mickey name badges on them too - quite cute upclose!

:goodvibes Hehe, my mum can't stop laughing. ^^ She hopes you enjoy the pin. Just a little story to go with it, she actually traded for that pin at Animal Kingdom itself when we went to WDW in 2008.

For my two I got the Stitch Cast Lanyard one, and an adorable Limited Edition of 1200 Stitch Easter pin. I think I got very lucky with that one, as I didn't know LE pins from America would be on the lanyards. My mum traded for the Mickey and Donald square pins.

Argh, how strange! :goodvibes Tell your Mum I love the little pin, I picked it off the lanyard straight away as it's got my favourite characters on it and my DBF loves Animal Kingdom!

I'd most certainly have loved the Stitch LE one too, very lucky! I knew they were doing LE ones from the U.S., I hope I come across one when I'm trading one time!

The CM mentioned to me that earlier in the morning she'd had all 4 of the squares where on the lanyard and that a lady had been in and traded for the Mickey & Donald ones - and now I know that lady was your Mum! :rotfl2: So I snapped up the Stitch & my Dad snapped up the Goofy!

:) Hopefully they have a few of the Cast Lanyard ones, so they can keep topping them up. Like I said, I got the Stitch one in the morning, so they must've added a new square Stitch one later on. I'm hoping to get the Donald one for myself next time I go in.

:( Sucks that Trafford Centre doesn't start trading until Tuesday. We went all the way there on Saturday, as Manchester staff told us that everyone would be starting the same day as them. Ah well, what can you do? We may pop to the Oldham Disney Store tomorrow, to see if they've started yet as well.

^^ BTW, what's your PinPics name? Mine's Masamune! This is the LE Stitch pin I traded for.

Oh I love the Stitch pin, quite adorable! :goodvibes Great catch!

If I'm honest, I've never seen PinPics before now, so I've just registered as Tinks1984 on there :) I'll most definately check out the site. Thanks for the information on it!

I was a little disappointed with the Trafford Centre not trading on Saturday too, but they did politely explain that they'd not rec'd everything they needed and that they didn't want to disappoint people by not having the full range in, so they said that they expect to be ready for Tuesday.

I'm ghostinthesnow on pinpics, but not all mine are on there, haven't updated it in a while

EDIT: Just checked it, its only got about a 10th of the amount I have...

EDIT AGAIN:
I've never noticed them on-line before a few weeks ago, probably a good thing, goodness knows how much I'd have spent! :rotfl2: Do they do more 'specialised' ones in Oxford St store? Like ones with 'London' on or something like that? I'd love one of those if they did!
There are actually some online exclusives, so its worth taking a look, I would have bought all the LE ones available at the moment, but if I go into the store I don't need to pay shipping and can get the DLRP shareholders discount :) Also, I have one from the oxford street store that does say London on it. Me and my sister both had one, but we gave the 2nd to a very kind cast member in one of the disney outlet stores in Orlando on a pin trading night.

:) Yeah, the Trafford Centre staff were really nice. I'll most likely head down there on Wednesday. I love Pin Trading so much! ;) I want to try and get both full sets of the Cast Lanyard pins, because I'm going to DLRP in just over a week, and I'll be there for their monthly Pin Trading Night. I figure that UK exclusive pins may be a bit more desirable than others.

:goodvibes You guys should update your collections. PinPics is a great way to keep track of everything.

I don't have many pins, as I'm pretty new to collecting, but I'll most certainly have a look on Pinpics and see if any of mine are on there :)

Have a great time at DLRP pin trading night, that'd be so cool. If you head down to Oldham today let me know how you get on :thumbsup2

Atsro - yeah, I've seen the on-line editions that are there at the moment. My brother has kindly bought two of the for me for my Easter gift. So hopefully this week I should end up with the Stitch in a rocket and the Chip 'an Dale one, which I just love 'coz you don't see those guys as much now :lovestruc

WDW Adict - sounds like you made the CM's day when you traded! I have to say, I don't know who was more excited in Manchester the other day either, me or the CM I traded with :rotfl2:

They all seem quite enthusiastic about the trading, I'll be looking forward to heading to the Trafford Centre even more when I go now to trade with the CM's! I did ask about the pin trading bags which can be used to store the pins and they were pretty sure that if it takes off as well as they expect over here, then we should get those instore too, which I'll love as I've been after one for my little collection since I saw them on Disney U.S. website :thumbsup2

:) We ended up going to the Manchester store again. I traded for a funny Tinker Bell pin with translucent wings and the Goofy cast lanyard pin. My mum traded for the Stitch cast lanyard pin and the Aurora Castle core pin that's sold in the store for £5. Didn't end up going to the Oldham store because we knew the buses weren't going to be as regular because it's Easter Monday.

:rotfl: I've decided I'm going to try and limit myself to 2-3 visits to the Manchester store a week.

Ah great, good to know they're going to have a few different pins on the lanyards each day! I know what you mean about restraining yourself to a couple of trips a week, my closest one is The Trafford Centre, so I'll have to restrict mine to trading when I go into store there :) I'm going Tuesday evening, so hopefully I'll get to see some! I can see this becoming quite addictive...and I think I've got my Dad hooked too.

He can't wait to pin trade in WDW next year either!

I've just registered to say - I went to Manchester to trade today and I got the small world pin, I adore it and it will have a happy home!

Cool, well unless some other lucky person's got it, it looks like you've got another taker Masamune - another of your pins have been snapped up! :goodvibes

Welcome to the boards too Twinkbelle!

Are they trading in Bluewater yet, I dont want to take a trip up there to find out they are not.

We are planning a trip to York this week so are hoping that they are trading in the Disney store there. DW, DS and DD all enjoy trading and each has their own favourite. DW collects Tigger ones and has 46, DS has 30 Stitch ones and DD has 30 Pluto pins.
They are obviously finding it harder to get any new ones now (other than ebay) so we have been buying some of the LE ones from here in the hope that they will be able to trade them for some of the older pins with the traders outside the pin stands in the parks.

@ Tinks - :goodvibes Trading pins at WDW is awesome. We even managed to attend their monthly Pin Trading Night whilst we were there last year. It was a massive room just filled with people and their pins! It was really awesome.

@ Twink - :lovestruc Yay! I'm so happy to hear that! When I went in yesterday my Small World pin was still there, so I'm glad it got picked up later on.

@ Pegasus - My main collection is of Cheshire Cat pins. I have 35 of those, as well as two Cheshire lanyards. In the pic below, the top 3 rows are all Cheshire pins. Then there's 3 rows of villains, a row of Jessica, and then a random mix of all my other fave pins. The rest of my collection kept in a pin book. My board needs updating with my newest pins, but I'm gonna do that when I get back from DLRP.

PS. What does DD/DW/DS mean?
