We are sailing on the RC Ovation of the Seas in July out of Seattle. We are flying in the night before into Seattle and was just wondering if anyone has stayed near the airport and arranged transportation the next morning to the cruise port or picked a hotel closer to the port. Trying to decide which route to take and looking for suggestions. Thanks for your help!!

We are on Ovation in Sept out of Seattle. We are flying in day before and staying near the airport. The hotels near the airport are a bit less expensive than those near the cruise port. Our hotel has a free airport shuttle to get us there when we land. For the cruise, we are planning on using Seattle express shuttle. They pick you up at whatever hotel you are in and will do round trip. So you get hotel to pier, then pier to airport on the way home.

We did a few days in Seattle post-cruise after sailing on Ovation a few years ago. Stayed in the Downtown area and it was easy to a few of the key sites. There is pretty limited hotel selections as you get closer to the port, so it is not like Fort Lauderdale, Cocoa or Miami. The "close to port" hotels are likely going to be near or just north of the downtown area so it probably won't be a huge advantage. With the OP stating that they are arriving the night before I don't see any reason to go beyond the airport area for that nights lodging.

We are cruising in August on RC and have booked a Hampton Inn in downtown. We'll Uber it from the airport and then Uber to the ship the next day.

For those staying in downtown Seattle, please be careful if you are going to walk around in the evening (or even day time). Downtown Seattle is no longer once was, there are a lot of homeless and crazy things happening all the time now. Sounds like most of you will be here in the Summer time when the daylight is longer, so it should be better than Winter time when it gets dark at 4pm. As always, just be aware of your surroundings friends!

We sailed on Ovation last year and had a great stay at hotels before and after our cruise, however both were downtown though neither was really too far from the cruise port.

Before our cruise we stayed at The Sound Hotel which was a lovely boutique hotel and a Hilton property - we absolutely loved this hotel! After our cruise we stayed at The Embassy Suites Downtown Pioneer Square. Like someone else mentioned above, the hotels near the airport will be less expensive but it's much farther drive to the cruise port.

Just an update - we stayed near the hotel and used a car service to the cruise port - with the amount of people and luggage it was easier than an Uber.
