How many nights do you have to stay at a disney resort to get 10+ dining reservations? Might be planning on hopping over to Disney for a couple of dinners and HDD while we are visiting another theme park in Orlando. We want to do arleast 1 day at a Disney park and book a couple of resort restaurants that we like. We would book the resort stay at the beginning of our trip but eat at the restaurants and hope to do HDD in the middle? Does booking 1 night room only reservation give you the opportunity to use the 10+ rule? Or does it need to be a package?

Unfortunately that is not how the +10 works. It covers your stay at a WDW hotel. So if you stay at the hotel for 7 days you can book your check in plus those other 6 days. If you stay onsite for 1 day there is no advantage. You can book that one day 60 days out.

The +10 is not automatic. It's up to ten days, based on the length of your stay. If you're staying one night, you'd get to book for two days - check-in day and check-out day. Honestly reservations haven't been that difficult recently so you might be ok booking at 60 days or even later.

The +10 rule is actually the length of your stay, up to ten days. So if you're doing one night at a Disney resort, you would only get 60 days plus 1. It works for both room only and package trips, but only for the number of days you book.
