Up Up & Away !!!

After 3 visits to Orlando we have always been unlucky and never had the opportunity to see a take off from KSC, and when we booked for this August we thought we had done it again as the was nothing planned for August. However just been to Nasa web site and to DWs delight there is a flight 15th August, STS112.
The only dilemma now is the flight time, does anyone on the boards either know the time or where we can find the info. The tickets are issued 2 weeks prior to take off so we want to book tickets for delivery to the villa, is this possible?

146 and counting....

the space center has there own web site. you can buy tickets there, also tells you expected launch times etc. however they go quite early in the morning most of them around 06.45, but if you've got tickets it say's you have to be there around 4 hours earlier. we were going to go in april, not sure if it's going to be worth getting up that early and risk be even more tired for the rest of the holiday.

hope this helps!

Hi Sam

Thanks for the reply, we have looked at this sight but it does not give a launch date as yet. We will keep a watch on it for updates.

Bye for now

Hi Sam

Got that wrong slightly! We have the date of the launch but are looking to find the time of the launch. If you have to be there 4 hours before and it is 6.00 am' ish I think we will view it from the pool at the villa.

Thanks again

Still 145 days and counting

We were there we saw the rocket was going up on the news so changed our plan and did the space centre on Friday instead of Sat to tie in with the launch. We saw it from Cocoa Beach.

Probably not as good as the shuttle but better than nothing.

Actually it was Cape Canaveral Beach,Pet. But at least you knew you were in Florida.
