Semi-official BCV date on Disney Club website

Here is the text of a correction to the info in the Disney Club member newsletter:
Correction To Our Newsletter

We would like to take a moment and address an error that was
stated in our June Newsletter regarding our new resorts set to
open at the Walt Disney World® Resort.

The Villas at Beach Club Resort are due to open September 2002,
not October 2001 which was the date stated in the June issue. And
the opening date for the new Disney's Pop Century Hotel has
been moved from December 2001 to March 2002.

We are sorry for any inconvenience this error may have caused.

Thanks for the follow-up, Buckylarue. Now this makes more sense and is in line with what Disney had been saying in the past.

We all knew that the orignial statement had to be a mistake. But now from your post, at least we have an official target date now.

Gotta start planning when to go.

Does that mean that anyone with points can stay at the BCV in Sept 2002 ? I can't remember when DVCers were able to use points to stay at VWL in comparison to when it opened.

A small amount of rooms are set-aside for points reservation when the facility first opens. Depending on how many points it looks like they'll be able to sell in the first month (let's say) they may set aside more at BCV than they did at VWL (actually very likely eh?)

When BWV opened in Nov, 2000- no points reservations were scheduled until Jan 14, 2001- when closings began on DVC sales. I would expect some advance notice for a similar schedule at BCV.
