I made the most delicious oriental salad last night from a recipe I got off a bag of spinach. I served it with italian bread and italian butter, which really didn't go with it, but I couldn't think of anything else. Any ideas (no meat) for a complimentary side dish?
Here's the recipe
Mix in a bowl:
Spinach leaves and iceberg lettuce (I used the pre-packaged lettuce with carrots and other stuff already in it)
1/4 red onion
1 can mandarin oranges (save the juice)
sliced, toasted almonds
In a small bowl mix:
mandarin orange juice
1 tsp. dijon mustard
1 Tblsp. red wine vinegar
1 Tblsp. sesame oil
1/4 cup olive oil
Pour dressing on salad and serve. (I sprinkled a few chinese noodles on top for some crunch.)
