Six GAD Fast Passes only sternly enforced

We just returned from Disney June 19-27 and we had 5 vouchers to redeem. Every voucher was redeemed for 7 or more fast passes with no problems, and one day we had 10 in our party at MK and had no problems either.

On Thursday June 24th (at 4 PM), I got 9 vouchers at DHS. The CM had to ask for a manager to help her do the override, and made a few comments about how this was special, but gave us 9 in the end.

On Saturday June 26th (at 8:50 AM), the CM at the MK sternly enforced a limit of 6 when I had a party of 9. I asked if he could ask a manager for override, and he said he was authorized to do so, but in only slightly more polite words said he wasn't going to do it for me.

It's so un-Disney to get different responses to the same request. I like gambling, but only in casinos.

Which park do the passes seem most worth it? I'm going with a friend in September and I volunteered, but she didn't in time. I'm between HS and MK, which would you use them in? MK has PM EMH until 2am the day we plan on going there if that makes a difference, where HS has an AM EMH that we plan on attending.

Def. was more worth it for my family at HS!! THe lines at Toy Story Mania are ridiculous. My opinion is you can manage with a reg. fastpass at MK more easily. :)

We plan to use one at DHS and one at MK...if for some reason we don't use one we'll get the pins. From what I can see here on the boards, I'm really looking forward to using them and making our trip with my in-laws (70+) even more laid back for them!

Just got back today.

We were a party of 9 and had absolutely no problems at all in getting 9 FPs for each park. I was ready to politely and firmly argue for one at MK, but that was one of the quickest ones we received.

Our only issue with the FPs is that many of the CMs covered up all the machines after the regular FPs were gone. One CM even told me that my special FP card wouldn't work. We lifted up the cover, inserted my card and out came the GAD FPs!!!:goodvibes

So be prepared to talk to a CM if they forgot to leave a machine open.

Also, I heard both "yea" and "nay" when it came to getting the GAD FPs for EMH. Most times we could but at AK the CM wouldn't let us (Dinosaur and Everest).

Finally, we found DHS the best place to use our FPs (TSM, RnR, ToT and Mermaid). The 2nd best was MK. However, we had 4 FPs so we used one at each park (did 2 in the AM and 2 after 11am and none were problems).

Crowds are HIGH -- our day at DHS there were 22 tour groups!!!!!:mad::mad:We would have gone to another park but had already gotten our special GAD FPs. We had a 30-35 minute wait in the FP line for TSM...had an actual line at Tomorrowland Transit Authority (!!!) on another day.

The GAD FPs were a god-send!

So far, no problems getting Fast passes for 8 at MK on Monday and 9 yesterday at Epcot. Studios tomorrow :) Yes, it's crowded but we are getting everything accomplished in a small amount of tim due to the FPs.

You continue to get regular fastpasses normally. Getting a GAD fastpass does not lengthen the time delay before you can get another regular fastpass. Usually it is better to rely on regular fastpasses early, and use the GAD fastpass card later when the fastpass machines are sold out for regular fastpasses.

When redeeming the GAD voucher for fastpasses, you can keep your questions generic. Like saying, "I want to get them for the* family." Or just handing the CM all of the family's tickets.

*Don't say the word "whole".

I don't see the issue. If you are supposed to get 6 and they do bend the rules most times for people that is great. If not, oh well.

I had a nasty experience trying to redeem my GAD for FP at MK - we had gotten them for my parents who were both in wheelchairs with no problem the day before at Epcot, even though they were not with us (we entered through the front gates, but my parents had to get an ECV, so they entered through the International Gateway. But the CM at MK (and her name was Dorrie - middle aged woman with a tight reddish perm and too much makeup) was VERY unpleasant, and practically yelled at me. Very bad experience, she made me feel like a criminal. I did take the time (and time it was - almost took me half an hour) to report my experience to Guest Services, and they were very nice about it.

WDW should either enforce the stated rules, or let their CM's know how to nicely bend them. Either way, it shouldn't be a crap shoot, depending on which CM you end up speaking with. Who wants to start their day at WDW with that kind of stress?

Not that a CM should ever be rude to you...but the stated rules ARE that they need to be present with you. You cannot expect every CM to bend the rules.

I don't. I expect every CM to be polite and cheerful. And if the great majority of CM's ARE bending the rules, then the rules need to be reconsidered, or something - perhaps the CM's should be encouraged to be consistent with one another. It does give a wrong impression when one CM makes all kinds of allowances, then the next day, another CM is outright mean to the same guest, asking the same question.

KCMiller -- sorry that you had a tough time. Like I said earlier, I was expecting trouble at MK but was surprised by our quick turn-around ... and yes, we had a red-haired lady, too so it may have been the same one...maybe your experience helped me out b/c she didn't say a thing to me about having more than 9...

All 9 of us were present for each park except DHS ... some of us had already gone in the park and were on rides but I had their tickets and we were able to get the FPs, even though we didn't have 9 bodies there.

I'm thankful for the GAD FPs ... we got spoiled by them really quick!!;)

I don't think it should be a big deal if some families get more than six GAD FPs. There are plenty of families that need LESS than 6 to make up the difference. DS and I only got 2.
