Snorkeling on cozumel

Can you snorkel at playa sol beach?If not which is better for snorkeling THe fury catamaran sail and snorkel or the snorkeling at chankanaab? IS there any way to Have safe good snorkeling and lots of time on a beach too? THe disney excursions have most of the trips near the same time so you can't do both---any ideas? THanks so much!!!

The coral just off the beach at Chankanaab is "dead" but recent reports that I read online indicate there there are fish to see if you get in the water early enough (unfortunately the Magic is one of the later ships to dock on "Cruise Ship Wednesday" - Schedule: http://www.cozumelinsider.com/cruiseships.html).

You will probably see more in off shore snorkeling you mention or try a less well known place. Cozumel Sally recommends Dzul Ha.

I'm planning on doing Dzul Ha myself. Not much sand there from what I read, but I've got the best sand beaches in the world within 2 hours of where I live so sand is not what I'm looking for.

Playa Sol is a white sandy beach, which pretty much guarantees there's nothing to see underwater. Fish like to hang out at rocky coastlines.

Chankanaab snorkeling is good, not great, and you have the added advantage of all the rest of the amenities and activities Chankanaab offers. Entry is $10 per person.

The best snorkeling is at Dzul Ha. No entry fee, but there's food, beverage, snorkel rentals, lockers and restrooms. It's small and not as well known.
