Hey all,
I have just a few concerns regarding my lightsaber that I built at Savi’s (was in California though). I’ll be at DHS in March and I want to know if I should bother bringing my saber along if it needs to be replaced or something...
So, the appearance and durability of the saber seems fine but I’m just concerned mostly about it’s responsiveness and sound matching the movements made. Mine seemed louder when it was brand new but at home it seems a lot quieter than it should be (we even changed the batteries to fresh ones, just in case, but that didn’t change the loudness). Are they all just a bit on the quiet side? Also, when I strike the blade, it seems to need to be hit pretty hard to flicker and make the clashing sound... on top of that, there is a bit of a sound/action delay after I hit it... is that normal? Lastly, do the sabers not react with the “vvvvbt-vvvvbt” lightsaber woosh sounds when you swing the blade around?? Mine just seems to make random sounds when it is moved, either a “vvvvbt” or an odd little wobble sound. They aren’t timed to my swings or movement at all.
I just wanna be clear if the sabers are all like this or if mine should be brought back and asked to be replaced. It just seems a bit odd for it not to deliver the proper responsiveness as I’ve seen in other saber replicas, etc.
And as a side question... if I bring my saber on the trip, do they allow it to be carried or brought out around the parks if you are being responsible with it? Or are they super strict with when and where you bring it out?? You’d think if selfie sticks were banned, big hard sticks would be too... haha... I never really took mine out of it’s sheath in the park.
