The SCOOP on Fall Fantasy...

Well folks, guess what -- it's TRUE! DCL is in the process NOW of repricing cruises for select cruise dates from 8/29 - 12/19/02. This DOES seem to be in lieu of the Fall Fantasy promotion!

What this means is if you have an EXISTING RESERVATION for these dates you will need to call DCL (or your travel agent if you used one) and see if the repricing will affect you. A special note to DREAMS UNLIMITED clients -- agents are already working on the repricing with DCL and you will be notified of any savings. :) If you book a NEW reservation it will be at the new prices.

One other note -- if you booked with the ONBOARD REBOOKING OFFER then you are not eligible for the repricing....but don't despair, those rates do still seem to be better than the new repricing rates.

Happy cruising, everyone! :)

Thank you Michelle for clearifing this...

Yippy Yeah ~ Thanks Disney....
Our gang's travel dates are in that time frame and our call saved us $900! You'll hear no complaining here :D

Dasha, they are not listed anywhere at this point. The information I posted above is all that we know for now. :)

I was just reading this post, and decided to check my email. There it was: an email from DU saying that the price of our cruise had just dropped from $1137 down to $917. Now I am totally impressed with Dreams Unlimited. (Although since most of our Disney trips are booked through DVC, we don't have a lot of opportunities to use them)

The price listed above is for the Sept 5, 3-day cruise in a Cat 10.

This is the price list I found for the Eastern trip. I don't think this reflects any new savings though, except on the January trip. Of course the week I picked, unknowingly, seems to be more expensive than the other non holiday weeks in November. Anyone know why the first week of Nov. is more than the weeks before or after it?

My3kids, did you call DCL or your TA to ask them about the repricing? Although not all sailing dates are repriced within the dates I posted, many are, and I don't know why yours would not be. You might want to try again, they were still loading the new prices into the system, and it may not have shown up yet.

Good luck! :)

I just called DCL and they said they have no info for my cruise, the Oct 5 one. I guess it hasn't loaded yet. I am calling my travel agent now (Costco) to see what they can do.

Mike

Michelle: This is so strange. I have not called the TA, but I looked at the DCL website. I plugged in 2 adults in a cat. 10. The price was $2412 for Nov. 2 and $1782 for the next Eastern week. When we booked, the Nov. 2 trip was the same as all the fall weeks from Sept. through Dec(excluding holidays, of course) What in the world could make that one week in November more expensive???

Update, I called Costco travel and they called DCL and got me the adjusted rate. It was around $300 savings, not as much as I hoped for but it still helps. Thanks for the notice on the rates going down.

Mike

My3kids, it sounds like that cruise has booked up more (for whatever reason) so the Early Booking Savings are less. It's still definitely worth a call to your TA to check on any price adjustment available. Good luck! :)

I called Costco. They are always so nice, but just as I suspected, my week isn't cheaper. It would be a lot more if I booked now as opposed to when I booked it last April. DCL told them to tell me maybe by Sept. a discount might become available, but not now. I wonder if they have plans for some special week(like Aaron Carter's in April) that they have not announced but know about internally. Gosh, I hope it isn't something like Aaron Carter. I hear enough little girl squeals without adding several hundred more....;) There is only so much squealing a person can take!

This is probably not the place to post this but......wonder if this will change the point structure for those of us that cruise with DVC points. I will post if I find anything out - both here and on the DVC board.

glindamood -

I was wondering the same thing about DVC points. I'd love to hear anything you find out about this. We booked using all of our 2002 and 2003 points for our 11/30/02 cruise (taking my parents) and although I'm still glad I did it this way I'd love to get some of those points back!

Got home from work and was pleasantly surprised by an e-mail from Cathy at DU...we are saving an additional $140. Considering that we booked nearly two years in advance, I was surprised to receive any further discount. Thanks for doing the work for me, DU!:D

Add us to the list of happy DU customers who received one of those emails today!! We have two cruises booked in the affected time period, with a total savings of over $600. Pretty sweeeeet!

I'm going to try another 4 night cruise. I called DCL today. The price I was quoted was 1336.25 for a cat. 10, cabin 5520 (2 adults and 1 teen (16). We'll drive down again and stay at the Hampton Inn. I'm happy!!!

I just wanted to add that repeat cruisers that got the POB discounts will not find these new rates any cheaper. Some cruises that I repriced for DU last night went down as much as $740.00! We love saving people money! :D

As for the DVC points, don't we usually get a special Sept point savings offer? Hopefully they will do the same. :)
