I've noticed this listed for a number of attractions and am wonderin how this would work. Especially interested in the haunted mansion could my mom stay in teh wheelchaiar until the doom buggies and than how about gettin out. I dont believe i have ever seen anyone use one in the parks?

I'm not sure exactly what that term refers to, but I know some rides (RSR and GRR come to mind) have places where the ride vehicle can pull off to the side so you can take your time getting in and out without holding up the ride. Perhaps that's what it is. On those two rides, RSR and GRR, you are able to leave your wheelchair right there in the loading area, so it's there waiting for you when you get off the ride.

I'm not sure about Haunted Mansion. I know when you go up to the building they will ask you if you can stand for the remainder of the line (the stretch room and the hallway after that), but I believe there's an alternative if you say "no" - I'm just not sure what it is.

If it says you need a transfer chair, it means you need to be in a manual chair, which they will wheel to the ride. Your mom would need to transfer from an ECV or power chair to the manual chair, then at the doom buggies they will stop the walk way to let your mom board. They will tag the buggy and instead of getting off at the exit, you will circle back to the ride boarding area, and will be escorted back out.

wow thanks that is really helpful, when u exit than is there another exit they let u through

It was easy for us.

Go to the exit person and ask for a wheelchair pass. They will give you a return time to enter through the FastPass line.

Ask for a "Disability Map". It will tell you where to enter different rides. DL was built long before ADA became law.

Right. But some rides require a transfer chair, which is what the OP is inquiring about. Once it is your turn, and you enter the FP line, you will approach the hearse at HM. If you cannot walk from the hearse to the buggies, AND you use an ECV or powerchair, they will have you use a manual chair to the buggies.

This is the same at Peter Pan.

I know that Small World, Jungle Cruise, and I believe Buzz? has a special wheelchair boat/vehicle where you can remain in the wheelchair. Other attractions might as well but those are the ones we used for my grandma.

Sorry Malcon. Didn't mean to share more info that the OP asked for.

Thank you all for posting this information! I do not need to use this, but, it is nice to know this information is here to share with friends and family who are thinking about going to the parks.

So according to teh disneyland website on snow white and pinnochio it says guset must transfer but it alson says guest may request a wheelchir accessible vehicle. What does that mean?

You need to transfer out of the wheelchair for these rides, but they do have a ride vehicle available where there is no stepover to get into the vehicle, as the side door opens up and the row is "supposedly" aligned with height of a standard wheelchair for easy transfer. Basically, it is supposed to be easier to transfer from a wheelchair/ECV to this "transfer accessible vehicle" than the other standard ones. But, yes you must be able to transfer out of your actual wheelchair.

To add, the transfer accessible basically means the vehicle has the opening so you could use a slide board to transfer from the chair to the ride and back.
