What's your favorite restaurant?

Frenchy's in Clearwater, FL

haha

Seriously it is so good that the owner, Frenchy, has opened up 4 on ONE beach. They are all within, I would say, a mile of each other.

Every time i come home, that is the first place I eat at. They have one directly on the beach, one on the intercoastal (the one we go to because we go by boat), one on the strip, and the original one which is tucked away where a lot of locals go.

The place has won so many awards, their Grouper sandwich is suppose to be the best in the state (I don't eat seafood).

I could go on forever about this place :rotfl2:

We recently fell in love with this chain they have down here called Carolina Ale House. Good cheap food, good cheap drinks, lots of tvs, and they have the best chili I've ever had.

Is this the same chain of Miller Ale Houses? (ie Orlando Ale House, Jacksonville Ale house, etc.?)

if so, I agree! That's my fav place to go watch an away football game, drink beer, eat greasy appetizers, and their ZINGERS are the best!! YUMMY!!

P F Changs is my most fav for a chain

I do agree, have you had the Peeking Dumplings? So good!

I want to go to Sanibel before season as well. Lifgthouse Cafe for breafast or Bubble Room for Red Velvet Cake!

I forgot about the Bubble Room!! I haven't been there in years. Did you know they had one in Orlando YEARS ago? And I agree, the red velvet is the best and it's HUGE!! I just love that place so much!

OMG!!!

We love that place!! We go to Rockaway's on the beach!!! We always take our friends from up north there, get a table on the deck, great sunsets!!!
We haven't been there in a while.

No, it's a different chain, similar though. But the food is much better, I love Ale Houses but Carolina Ale Houses are quite a few steps up, but overall they're pretty similar.

And yes, Zingers are great!

I love Cracker Barrell.

We have a great seafood rest. that we love here.

Also in Titusville we love Dixie Crossroads. Try to stop in there when we are in that neck of the woods. (Usually when we go on a cruise out of Port Canaveral)

Love going to 50's PTC.

I would say these are some of our favorites.

P F Changs is my most fav for a chain....then on the coast I have several seafood restaurants...Original Oyster House, Felix's Fish Camp...and the Casinos...Beau Rivage, or Emerils Fish HOuse...and a tiny place called Phoencia's

I've eaten at the "original Oyster House" in Gulf Shores, Ala. Is there more then one "Original" :)

We have a local steak house here called "The Woodshed " and they make a steak to die for, it is always melt in your mouth it's so good and a huge bake pototoe or sweet pototoe...goodness...but it is what it is : expensive !

My favorite all time restaurant was a place called Country's Barbeque in Columbus, GA. I haven't been there in over 20 years, but I can still taste it. I used to like Don Pablo's, but they closed locally due to bankruptcy. I am searching now for a new favorite.

Country's BBQ
I am happy to say is still alive:cool1: and kickin.....  Just 90 miles away from my house.....And the food is to die for if you like great bbq and country food:worship: :worship: you have to eat there if you are in the neighbor hood!

Is this anything like Miller's Ale House?? There are several around Florida - including the one near FtW. We love the Ale House!

My DH is so wishing that they would open an R.J. Gator's here in Lakeland. When he was on cat-duty in Port St. Lucie after the 2004 hurricanes, he ate at R.J. Gators just about every night and loved it!

Our fav restaurant in Lakeland recently closed...Roadhouse Grill. Great steaks, moderate prices, terrific service. Roadhouse closed a lot of their places due to the economy...so did Don Pablo's & Longhorn. Too bad.

lol Debbie, look up ;)

The other difference is Carolina Ale Houses also normally have an outside seating area, and are much larger and more full of stuff hanging on the wall ;)

haha that's funny, someone else thought the same thing. Ever Millers Ale House I have been to has had outdoor seating. Now i'm hungry for zingers and it's only 9am :thumbsup2

Yeah... I saw your response "after" I posted mine. I'm old...what more can I say?

I feel old right now (after last night, ugh).

Ever Millers Ale House I have been to has had outdoor seating.

Must be different from down here, I haven't been to a single one that had outdoor seating. Well, they have like patio tables outside, like maybe 2 or 3, but people dont' sit there. At this one it has the mister fans and tv's and it's covered outside, full bar and everything. Of course, it's probably since there is now a smoking ban in Florida, so they probably do it to increase business (the place was just built).

Fogo de Chao or Texas de Brazil, expensive but really good.

On the other side of the spectrum is a place called Simon Sushi in Plano. The guy that opened this place up has some really unique offerings in addition to traditional sushi/sashimi.

Shanone mentioned BQ's Mongolian BBQ. Whenever I'm in Michigan we HAVE to go there. I love it. Also, when I'm in Michigan, I have to get a Coney from National Coney Island...there's even a specific one that we like.

No matter where we are, if we see a Sonic, we drive through for a Cherry Limeade (and then usually go somewhere where we can get grilled chicken and a salad to eat :confused3 )

At home, a friend of ours just opened up a restaurant called Angus and Ale and it's quickly becoming my favorite place. He cuts up portobella mushrooms and fries them like french fries.
