The economy isn't that bad.

A lot of folks out there (the Media included) have made it sound like we are in the midst of another Great Depression, when it is truly not the case.

I could get off on a rant here, but I'd rather not.

It's not that bad being in a recession, either. Especially not for Disney: since the dollar is leaning towards the "weaker" side of the scale, tourism is likely to go up.

VMK is closing, but I'll still be trapped in the fence for a while.. now I wish I never stumbled upon this game.

I am devastated! I never thought vmk would do this to us! I just don't know what to say, but I hate you vmk!!
That's it, I am trading everything I have for sparrow and stitch, just so i can say i had those, when vmk closes! I will post my offer on friday, if anyone will be interested.

I'm really sad about this. I loved having something to do during my downtime (besides reading and watching tv) and I'd really like to have something to replace it. I tried POTC during Beta and had a really hard time with the graphics and the missions. I tried Toontown, but that messed up my computer. I need something to give me that DISNEY fix of going to the parks . It was fun while it lasted though.

Well just goes to show you that so many of us who talked about this happening a few months back were right and Yavn is a liar! Not that I mean to call names ...but he is the one who told us that not to worry that vmk wasn't going anywhere..!! I understand that they want to make money but they should have at least one game for kids to play..Cause like alot of parents said how do you tell yoou 5 6 or 7 year old its gone? But what can we say... ?? This is the only game I have ever been able to play....and I am really bummed.

But I really want to say that I have met some really really wonderful friends
and that is the sad thing too... that we will miss their frienship. I sure do hope that they keep this board going ..it would be a nice place to still be able to keep in touch.

I certainly will miss playing vmk.. it really is just to sad to think it won't be here any more.

And who will look after all those dogs. I was having so much joy giving away so many dogs.

Everyone promised to glove them always. That they were family and we do not trade family members. The kids were so nervous and excited to get this new family member.

Kinda took the wind out of my sails.

This is so sad and worst like who but us in VMK understands the hurt and sadness we are feeling. I am sitting here in tears and only people who play understand the friends we have made.

You know I have made awesome friends because of VMK. I pray we all stay in touch some how.

Disney you created this and let us interact and really care about each other. not can talk but real talk so sad I feel like I was used as big ginuea pig.

While we're on the subject of new sections and faces, I'd like to take a second and introduce a friend of mine, fellow VMK'ers, meet PirateVinnie: PirateVinnie's been working closely on lots of the new stuff you've seen recently released, like the Gingerbread pieces that came out over the holiday and Magic Shop Checkers game. But he was working behind the scenes at VMK for a while before that, on the website, with the in-Park locations and our in-game HOST and events teams. Vinnie and I go way back, but he's been on the VMK team for almost two years now and he's been like my right hand man the whole time, helping me out. So look for him to take the spotlight a little more in the weeks ahead. In fact, don't be surprised if you see his own section here in the Newsletter very soon. If you see him in game, say hello!"

I am beyond words right now. Sad is an understatement.

This news totally breaks my heart.

I am thankful that so many of my friends are here on DIS, but there are quite a few that are not. To lose touch, is so very sad.

VMK was more than just a game. We all built friendships that we never even thought possible. And to have them cut off, is just depressing.

I think that the players of vmk should have at least been given an option to pay to play. I think we would all agree we would have, within reason.

Around the Steamboatpete household, we thought that this might be coming as soon as we learned that they took all the VMK stuff out of Disney Movie Rewards. Why? Because virtual prizes are the cheapest easiest prizes for Disney to give out in response to DMR points, but they are gone, gone, gone, all of a sudden. Why would Disney do that? Because they don't want pissed off consumers who say "I just bought this and that to get this prize and you closed the game!"

I'm not going to renew my annual passes now for sure.

Vmk took me through rough times, through hell. I cant exactly describe what VMK did for me, it changed me for the better. It even taught me how to spell some words, because it would flash those little silly thingys, and I would try different spellings, and it worked.


Please, you can take away pirates, you can take away mansion, just please, dont take away VMK itself as a whole. Plus, couldnt you have given us a larger warning?

VMK cant last forever, but cant we at least try? I didnt know it was the 50th themed promo, and even still i decided i loved disney based on it.

I joined VMK because I love Disney and I moved away from Southern California, so I could not go to Disneyland anymore. While I am sad that VMK is closing, I am terribly sad about losing all the great friends I made on VMK. I will miss you all.
