pet peeves

my pet peeve is when a family (consisiting of anyone of any ages) are in front of me walking slow. If i can walk around them i will, no big deal but if they are taking up the entire pathway walking slow with no room to get around them, reading the map or whatever, it absolutely drives me nuts. I am sorry but i know where i am and I know where i want to get to and i don't want to have to waddle behind you because you don't know what you are doing and holding up everyone behind you. Kindly move along to the side and let me by. I am on vacation and my vacation time is limited. I dont want to spend it behind slow people.

AMEN!!! My parents always had us walk two abreast and that was it, We are a family of Five so my two older sibblings were in front of me, I was in the middle and my parents were behind me or some other form of this formation. It drives me nuts when people walk 6 abreast and then are super pokey! Now when we go my little niece is in a stroller so we have the person pushing the stoller in fron and who ever is with tags along BEHIND the stroller! I strongly dislike people who block paths with strollers!~ OH and while were on that subject, If you havea stroller please be careful to not take people out with it, It does hurt and it is rude. If you do say your SORRY! Sometimes accidents happend but say your sorry!!!

I have a few other minor ones:

Parents screaming and yelling at their kids right in front of the whole park. TAKE A DEEP BREATH.. walk away from the crowd and then disapline your child in a proper mannor!

RUDE people in general! It's DISNEY come on why are you there if your going to be rude, its the happiest day on earth and your choosing to be RUDE!! COME ON~

oh I could keep going but i'll stop for now!

Not a lot bothers me except when people act like THEIR vacation is so much more important than mine. For example, several times I've had people come up and try to take pictures of/with characters when I just waited in line to meet with them. One time, this lady sent her kid up to stand next to the princess at our norway lunch at OUR table, and Cinderella just left and my daughter didn't get to see her until the next time she came out and we told her what happened. that could have been catastrophic!!

how about the people that talk through a show...not a comment..but a whole conversation!

:confused3
I thought we were having fun and cutting up :confused3
No place on earth is perfect and its fun to take a fun look at ourselves and what bugs us :hippie:

Right, I like threads like this once in a while. I don't mind at all. At least it is contained in one area.

Even despite any peeves at all I may have, I would rather be in WDW over any other place in the world, on any given day. I AM Korie DW NUT. lol:rotfl:

Yes but if my family does not snag a table while I am getting food, I have to deal with them in line. Don't you know that waiting in line for food givs me five minutes of quiet. :rotfl2:

That's my feeling. I can't deal with my 3 kids in line with me. Those lines are TIGHT, barely enough room to turn around to get out the exit area. Imagine me with trays of food and 3 small kids, juggling food, trying to keep 3 kids together and then trying to find a table. Even with dh with me, those cs places are so darn crowded, it makes no sense to have a full family of 5 up in line with you.

OHHH that drives me nutso at movie theaters!!!! I could go bonkers at the movies with it!!!
For some reason it doesn't bug me at the Disney shows, maybe because its usually young kids who are excited or the sound system is loud enough that the talking doesn't distract me.

Not only that but if they all stand in line with you... that gives them plenty of chances to change their order 4-5-10 times before your at the front of the line :hippie:

I hear ya.. I am 37 so I guess that means kids are allowed to bug me.. well at least my own kids :rotfl2:

You know what peeves me? I was just talking about this on my regular posting thread...

The wolf sounds coming from the HM late at night after park close. There have been several times I have walked to the grill at the GF (though I am sure you can hear the same wolf at the poly or CS late at night) and that howl has TOTALLY wigged me out!!!!!
Talk about a bad B rated horror flick come to life! :rotfl2:
I have jumped out of my skin!!!!
I will keep looking behind me to make sure no warewolf sneeks up behind me to have a snack!!! :rotfl2:

Has this howling every creeped anyone else out while walking around their resort late at night?

With my above post maybe I should add my second pet peeve is bringing my 2 teenage sons :rotfl2:

Its so much more fun when they aren't there complaining and being moody teens :rotfl:

HAHAHAH You gave me a flash back of my 12 year old grandson stomping after his mom and dad at Epcot saying, "Don't want to do the countries. The countries are boring!" like a litany. They are looking forward to a trip by themselves at some point!

Don't worry....it is a DOG. Not a wolf. You are safe ;)

I am seeing a theme here ...

the #1 pet peeve at Disney?!

FAMILY
:rotfl: :rotfl:

:rotfl: :rotfl: I agree! Really my pet peeve is some people's attitudes that solos don't belong at WDW. I go to WDW several times a year, sometimes with family, but at least 2-3 times a year as a solo. It's my "me time".

A couple of years ago I ordered my CS meal, finally found me a table, and sat down to eat. You would not believe the number of times I got the stink eye from families, who were looking for a table. After one lady gave me a particularly dirty look, I told her I didn't stink and didn't have bad breath, and they were welcome to join me, but glaring and snorting at me wasn't going to get me to move. The very next trip, I had just sat down at a table at Tusker House (when it was still a CS), and started to spread my silverware and napkin, when a lady came rushing up, told me I had to move, because she needed that table for her family, who were in line, and since I was by myself, I could just go outside to eat my meal. I don't think so:mad: ! At that same time, I saw another couple looking for a table and very sweetly asked if they wanted to sit with me. They accepted and the other lady stalked off.

I hate it, when I arrive early specifically to find a perfect place to take parade photos, then at the last minute someone pushes their kid in front of me saying, "oh, I know you don't mind. Afterall WDW is for the kids". Fine, no problem, as long as I can see over the kid. In fact, I always look around just before a parade starts and see if any little kids need to be moved to the front so they can see and offer to let them stand in front of me (again as long as I can see over their heads). The problem I have, is when the parents must then scoot in front of me too, again saying "since you're by yourself, I'm sure you don't mind." I also hate it when I see an character that is not out very often, so decide to get a picture of it and someone behind me decides that because I'm by myself that they can just push their kid ahead me.

Yep those large family groups who move slowly an often stop in middle of walkway. I walk slow too so if they movin slower than me they moving at the pace of a slow moving snail.

Parents who does not remove a screaming child from a show.

DH always having to sit in middle of theater even tho we have seen the show many many times (we've seen it honey now lets sit by the exit this time an get out of here an on with our day)

Space Mountain being closed next time I visit in June DD's high school grad present she wants to go to disney for graduation or we would not be going.

Those disney planning DVD's that never shows anyone in line an you are always next to get on attraction lol

Rude ppl

The Brazilian groups

It saddens me when I see wonderful parents being tortured by their children as well :rotfl2:

except i was referring to kids who are being verbally or physically abused:sad1: . if the parents carry on that way in public, at Disney no less, just imagine what that poor child goes through at home. it's so sad to see a dejected child because Mom & Dad aren't grown up enough to keep it together.

That totally stinks!
Just keep in mind that you get to go back to the resort, soak in a bubble bath and relax.. those same rude parents get to go back and listen to their over tired kids whine:rotfl2:

here i'll stir the pot

I hate it when I get stuck behind an ECV. ARGH!

I hate it when I get stuck behind an ECV. ARGH!

I look at it like this ... the great spirit of Disney/Walt whatever you want to call it.... puts ECV's and slow peeps in the park for a reason!
Its the whole can't see the forest through the trees mentality!
I see so many peeps rushing through the park to get from point A to point B ... all that happens for those peeps is they tire themselves and their families out and frustrate themselves.

Disney is not set up like other theme parks. The rides are very old and outdated and still the lines are long for a reason. Disney is popular due to the details and workmanship that goes into it. The subtle themes and the fact you can go into the park a 100 times and still find something new.
I think those slower peeps are angels in disguise forcing us to stop and smell the roses, notice some new and cool detail and to give us a break so we don't tire ourselves out. It also gives a few seconds of second chances to those who might be missing the pixie dust:cloud9:

My pet peeve is useless threads such as this one!

Honestly though, if you have a pet peeve about your vacation destination - especially one such as Disney which is THE NUMBER ONE VACATION DESTINATION IN THE WORLD, then maybe you should find somewhere else to spend your money. ;)

If you have a pet peeve about a certain topic, maybe you shouldn't open the thread.;)
