Cool. What time do you think? Jeff suggested being at the fountains by 8:15pm. Do you want to just split a taxi, or try the Metro?

I hope you can make it! :goodvibes I like moneyhappy's suggestion to come by even if there is a rugby game, just to meet us!

OMG. A week to go! I'm starting to get a bit nervous. I do hate packing and flying. I'm not *afraid* to fly or anything like that, but the airlines have just made the whole thing such an ordeal any more... :headache: I have podcasts and TV episodes from Samantha Brown and Rick Steves, a few movies, some short stories, and game apps on my iPod touch, eReader & iPad, all to help pass the 9-hour flight. I have never yet been able to sleep on an airplane. We'll see what happens this time! I cannot believe in 9 days I'll be in Barcelona, and in 10 days, on the Magic!!!!

Sayhello

If there are a lot of us then I would say the metro. If we can fit in a taxi or two then a taxi maybe the way to go. I think a taxi only holds four people?

Should we meet in the lobby about 7:30 PM?

Hi all not long to go now.

For those who have inquired about car hire in Malta. We got ours from economycarrentals.com. It was about £18.00 for a small car with A/C, by the time they add on the port delivery it came out at £27.00. It comes with a full tank of fuel and obviously you must return with same amount.

Still comes to $120+ for me. Perhaps they charge us "Yanks" more. :confused3

Rash, thanks for the prescription! I already have two more cruises booked. One of my Dis friends is trying to talk me into the Baltic cruise also but my husband keeps talking about this thing called work. Whatever that is...:lmao:

Roll Call: Added charlottewilliams and jxt203.
DIS Meets: Added the Montjuic Magic Fountain meet on 5/14.
Links: Added 3 links for 5/5 Med Cruise blogs

Work is highly overrated!

Sounds good. Maybe we should exchange RL names (in PM's!) so we can communicate at the Hotel? Most hotels will call hotel rooms or leave messages for you...

Hi Jeff,

Try www.economycarrentals.com I just ran it and it is $46.70 for us 'Yanks'. It is a very tempermental website. You have to be patient and when you enter each field of data the field background will need to change from Yellow to White before you can enter the next field. It can take a while depending on your connection. The price I quoted was for the Peugot 207 or Hyundai i20. There was a couple cheaper options as well as more pricey.

Come to think of it if you want to be my other driver. My family and I could use it in the morning and let you have it in the afternoon. What time does your morning tour end? We would just sail in the afternoon instead of morning.

You're mixing up Malta and Corsica.

Nope I'm not. Corsica is over $111 currently for a Toyota Yaris. Type in Valletta and choose the Port option it will give you 3 different locations in Malta.

You're right. I'm mixing them up. I misread Michael's post as Corsica. I've got a private tour in Malta so I'm not looking for a car there.

HI Jeff... just wanted to check if we need dollars on board...for tips for Palo etc...or anywhere?:confused3

No, you don't need any currency for purchases or tips. The only reason you'd need dollars/pounds would be for exchange for Euros. Everything goes on your Key To The World (KTTW) card.

Hello!! I would like to join in on the fun if thats okay! This will be our first Disney Cruise and we are extremely excited. Family consists of myself, hubby, daughter (3yrs), son (2yrs old), Grandmom, Grandpop, and Sister. Can I add our name to the DIY Rome Group? I like the safety in numbers thought process because we are directionally challenged family!

Can't wait to meet everyone!! :goodvibes

jxt203, would you like lanyards/namecards? If so, let me know the first names you'd like on them. :)
