And happy anniversary! What a perfect time to be going to Disney - it's such a great place to celebrate!

Thanks, Courtney. You know about celebrating some love there don't you? :)

Those days just keep ticking by! :thumbsup2

It's funny how they tick sooooooo slowly up to the week, and then when you have so much to do, they fly by! ;)

Can you believe we are down to a week? I'm sooooooooo excited now I can hardly stand it.

We can honestly say that we're going to Disney this week! :thumbsup2

Another great flashback!!!
Thanks, Becky! :)

Congratulations on 20 years!

Yachtsman sounds like a lovely way to celebrate.

Thanks! :) We'll be there soon!

Congrats on 20 years! We have never tried Yachtsman but it sounds yummy.

I can't believe that it's almost time to head to Disney!

5 days! 5 Days!! I am so excited for you!
I'm excited, but becoming overwhelmed by all I need to get done before Friday afternoon. I know I'll get it done eventually. :yay:

Love the flashbacks - especially the Poly... The Poly... ahhhhh :cloud9:
Thanks, Rebecca---We are fans of the Poly as well. :thumbsup2
I have the next (and last) flashback ready to update. It's at the Poly ,too!

After being at Disney in September 2008, I fully expected to wait at least another year or longer before we would get back. However, at the first of 2009, I received that magical Disney mail---none other than a 40% PIN code. :woohoo: It was good for selected dates throughout the year. With Elizabeth about to be a sophomore in high school, visiting during the school year would not be an option. So we decided to go after school got out for the year-May/June.

We left home on a Saturday morning, May 30, around 5:30 a.m., and made the 11 ½ drive to Disney in that one day. Because we would be arriving late, not to mention tired, we decided to stay off-site for the first night, using free Marriott reward points. We arrived at the Courtyard, near the Crossroads shopping area, and were able to enjoy dinner, and let the kids swim, before getting to bed that night.

Sunday morning, May 31, we woke up early, checked out, and drove to Animal Kingdom for park opening.

Ready for our first ride of the day-

You know what it is………………….

IMGP1140.jpg

After walking a trail, and grabbing some fast passes for EE, we made our way to Tusker House for a breakfast. This was our first time to eat here, and we really enjoyed it. The food was good, and the character interaction was great. :thumbsup2

IMGP1155.jpg

IMGP1153.jpg

IMGP1150.jpg

We then watched the Flights of Wonder show and Nemo, rode EE, enjoyed Primeval Whirl, and our favorite---FOTLK!

We left that afternoon, and drove to our resort. We were staying at POR for two nights. We were in the Alligator Bayou section, building 37.

Monday, June 1, we headed to DHS. We rode some rides, watched Beauty and the Beast and Lights! Action! Motors!

The next morning, Tuesday, June 2, we checked out of POR, and drove over to the Polynesian to finish our week at Disney. :goodvibes

IMGP1195.jpg

We were in Tokelau, room 1924.

IMGP1327.jpg

We had a patio and could see the Contemporary and the ferry carrying people back and forth from the MK to the TTC.

IMGP1208.jpg

IMGP1325.jpg

Our room was ready, so we unpacked, and enjoyed playing in the Volcano pool for the afternoon.

IMGP1196.jpg

IMGP1297.jpg

For dinner that evening, we were headed somewhere I had wanted to try for years. It would also involve getting to visit a resort I had never been to. :woohoo:

Since we had our van, we just drove to AKL, and after just oohing and ahhhing for a moment, we headed to Boma for our dinner ADR.

IMGP1218.jpg

IMGP1216.jpg

After dinner, (and some exploring around the resort), we drove back to the Poly, and boarded the monorail to MK for the evening.

Wednesday, June 3, was a day for EPCOT. It was mainly a day for Future World.

IMGP1249.jpg

IMGP1248.jpg

Of course we still had to venture over to America to hear the Voices of Liberty (Kevin’s favorite). On the way to America, we passed through Japan and visited with a new friend we’d never seen in person before.

Waiting for the Voices of Liberty--

Finally- the treat we had walked around WS for—

IMGP1239.jpg

That night we headed over to DHS for EMHs. Here’s the poor man’s photo pass picture of Kevin and Rachel riding RnRC that night. Those two really like to play it up for the photo. :rotfl:

IMGP1254.jpg

IMGP1256.jpg

It seemed as if we had the park to ourselves that night.

The next day, Thursday, June 4, we slept in, and spent the day at the pool again.

IMGP1203.jpg

That night, we went over to DHS to catch Fantasmic! When the show was over, we took our time leaving the park.

IMGP1264.jpg

Friday, June 5 we were headed back to EPCOT. We spent more time in World Showcase this day, and I got the kids’ pictures in front of every country’s landmark. I won’t put each one in, but I will include a few. ;)

IMGP1276.jpg

IMGP1283.jpg

IMGP1285.jpg

In France, a princess sighting temporarily delayed our trip around the world for a few moments. :)

IMGP1287.jpg

IMGP1289.jpg

Back to Future World, where we rode a couple of favorites, before heading back to the Poly.

IMGP1294.jpg

For a change of pace, we decided to take the boat launch from the Poly that evening over to MK. We love to spend our last night at MK every time we’re at Disney. I guess it’s a tradition. :goodvibes

*******************************************************************
SIDE NOTE INFO HERE:

During this trip, as you know, Disney’s promotion for the year, “What will you celebrate?” was displayed all over the place. Elizabeth kept dropping hints about how she’d LOVE to celebrate her birthday at Disney. Now, when you’re thinking about being at Disney for your birthday, Elizabeth has the bad luck of having a birthday during those crazy, crowded, most expensive resort season, days between Christmas and New Years. :scared1: We kept saying, “No way---too crowded!”

As the week had gone on, Kevin and I had started to think more about it. It was a big birthday---Our first born was turning 16. Did she want a big Sweet 16 party? :sad2: No, she wanted to come to Disney. So after thinking about it, we decided to plan on coming back in December. It would make more sense to upgrade our 7 day park hoppers to APs to have our admission paid for in December.

NOW, back to where I had left off---Heading into MK.
***********************************************

We went into MK, and headed right over to Guest Relations, where we completed the upgrade. In less than 30 minutes, we walked out onto Main St. as Annual Passholders! :woohoo::woohoo:

A few pictures—
IMGP1308.jpg

IMGP1313.jpg

And a few rides---

IMGP1322.jpg

And, of course, Wishes. :goodvibes

IMGP1318.jpg

Saturday morning, we packed up, and then headed over to ‘Ohana for a going-away breakfast.

IMGP1334.jpg

IMGP1331.jpg

IMGP1341.jpg

IMGP1335.jpg

Something Rachel said to Pluto inspired him to give her a big ‘ole lick! (That’s kiss in dog!)

IMGP1337.jpg

IMGP1338.jpg

Love this breakfast as always. :lovestruc It just makes me happy to be in such a beautiful place, surrounded by people I love.

All too soon, it was time to say good-bye, and begin our drive home.

***************************************

So now you know how the May ’09 trip made all this past year’s trips possible. Most of you reading have read my TRs about the next two trips we made off our APs, so I won’t post a flashback to the birthday trip, or the one this past March. If you haven’t read them, there’s a link in my signature for both. :thumbsup2

So, I have finished the flashbacks for this PTR----Lots of errands to do to get ready for this trip. We leave Friday afternoon to drive to Tallahassee for the night. We’ll drive on to Disney on Saturday morning. I’ll be posting some final plans in the next few days.

What a great way to start a Tuesday - looking at all of these wonderful pictures! Makes me not want to go to work, though. I'd rather sit here and transport mysef back to AKL and Poly. :thumbsup2

I can't think of a better place to spend a birthday - 16th or any other one - than in Disney World! :cool1:

Happy Anniversary Michelle!:goodvibes May is a great month for weddings...my 16th is Thursday!!

Another great trip flashback. Just think, in a few days you'll be seeing all of that in person again. I'm jealous!!;)

Cute flashback!
When we stayed at the Poly, we were in Tokelau too! We were the opposite of you though, we could see the GF and the ferrys over there:-)

What a great view at the Poly, seeing those ferries shuttling people back and forth. :goodvibes

My sister and I did the same thing you guys did with taking a picture in each WS country. It was pretty fun doing that!

Great pictures from your May trip - it looks like you guys had so much fun! And Woo Hoo :woohoo: for upgrading to the APs, they've certainly been worth the price for you!

I can't believe you leave again in just a few days! :yay:
